This hotel is great. The rooms are large, and the beds are comfortable. The outdoor areas - pool, spa, and workout - are great amenities. I would recommend this hotel. Though do be aware there is a resort fee

Well hello there WanderingDiplomat,

I enjoyed reading your review, your words are so kindly appreciated!

We are so glad you enjoyed the many outdoor areas of our hotel. Depending on your style, one of our two pools are sure to please our guest. Just curious, did you hear the "under water" speaker, it is so cool. And yes, our fitness center is an amazing surprise; large, new and a great variety of amazing equipment.

I will certainly share your comments with our entire team, we so appreciate hearing from our guest, as we look forward to your return.

Until then, be well,

Greg Joines

My wife and I planed a last minute trip to Scottsdale to celebrate our anniversary. I frequent Scottsdale for business, but it was my wife's first time. We had heard good things about the saguaro from a family friend so we decided to there. The hotel is bright and colorful, the rooms are very clean and well set up. The staff was OUTSANDING! Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Greg - the rooms division manager was so helpful and informative. The hotel is in walking distance to so many great shops and resturants. We loved the Mission Resturant and highly recommend it as well,

Great location for walking around Old Town Scottsdale and only 15 mins from the Airport. YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR BEN in the Distrito Bar!! If you like Margaritas and spice he has a signature Spicy Margarita that is UNBELIEVABLE...Wait...don't stop there..ask Ben for his menu recommendations and he will guide you to the best dinner at a bar you have ever had. Great Staff everyone treated you like they actually were glad you were there. Don't forget to hang out by the big pool and soak up the sun...ask Ben when he works the pool and you will be able to enjoy his spicy margaritas poolside.

Room Tip: A/C unit was a bit loud but when I mentioned it they just had gotten the approval to replace them so...

The Saguaro reminds me very much of a Palm Springs 1950s throwback hotel. Decorated really cute, very hospitable staff, good pools... Overall a good choice if you like quirky, one of a kind boutique hotels. You won't be disappointed. Check out a bike (free) and explore old town on wheels, don't miss The Daily Dose on Scottsdale Rd for an awesome breakfast!

Dear ctpruitt,

Your review was so complimentary, I thank you for that. It is interesting to hear other descibe our hotel; the Saguaro Scottsdale. I have read, "it Funky Southwest Chic". Others have made the comparison to "Art Deco South Beach, Miami Beach". And now "Palm Springs throw back". I see it all, and so proud to be apart of the fun environment.

Sound like you had a great time. When are you coming back? Did you know that we have a sister property in Palm Springs, the Saguaro Palm Springs. Check it out!

Take care my friend,

Nice for a refurbished old school hotel. One block east of Old Scottsdale. Tasty margaritas and guacamole at Distrito, the lobby restaurant and bar. Two nice pools. Try to get a room away from the two roads. Bed was a bit soft. Free internet. Lots of food and shopping within walking distance.

Hi Aspendancer,

Thank you for your complimentary review. I love your description, "Funky Southwest Chic". Can you re-use that?

Like you, so many of your guest are amazed at the location. Old Town Scottsdale has EVERYTHING, for everybody.

I see you had Margaritas at Distrito. The "Jefe" Margaritas is the best! So glad you tried and enjoyed the Guacamole, amazing. We are so proud to have Iron Chef Jose Garces as a partner with us here at the Saguaro Scottsdale.

Come back soon!

Take care,

Older low rise hotel renovated, very similar to the superficial way older South Beach Miami hotels are redone. The staff is very helpful and the location can't be beat. I wouldn't want to spend more than a $99 price point plus the resort fee. Good bed and nice linens.

Room Tip: Had room facing the road-no problem

Hi drtiffen,

Thank you so much for your review. I LOVE South Beach, so many great memories there with friends. It was fun reading your comparison, I too agree. It is truly amazing what you can do with older property, which have amazing character. And then to hire, train, and develop a great team to provide outstanding service is so much fun. The best part is to connect with guest, like yourself, and hear about all their fun.

When are you coming back?

Be well,

The decorations and original art pieces and artifacts in the rooms are splendid and set it apart from "hotel art". I even snapped a photo of your lobby. Very clean. One drawback: the "resort fee". Man, I come to sleep and not use amenities so the $19 is unnecessary and a surprising rip off. Why not charge per use of each facility or amenity instead of me paying for someone else's enjoyment.

Dear Richard D,

Thank you for your nice review. I certainly is much appreciated. I will share with the entire team.

I wanted to apologize if you were caught off-guard by our resort fee (which includes among other things: complimentary Wi-Fi in-room and throughout the hotel and pool areas, complimentary valet parking, complimentary in-room coffee, complimentary fitness center use, complimentary yoga classes, and complimentary local and long distance calls, to name a few), as this should be mentioned if making a reservation by phone, and is a required screen that guests must accept before they can complete their booking, when doing so on-line. Regardless, I have asked our Reservations team to review our practices to ensure that this is happening for each and every guest interaction.

Again, thank you for your feedback. It is through great comments and suggestions such as yours that will help us to continue to improve.

Sincerely,

Greg Joines
