Stayed here through Hotwire. Great location. You can walk anywhere. Cool restaurant and bar though the front lobby. The pool looked decent.

This place is grossly overpriced. The rooms are very average. I was on the main level which had a patio that you would not want to hang out on.

If you are looking for a place to sleep where you can walk anywhere in Old Town this is a good hotel. If you are looking for any value in your dollar, I would look at one of the 'chain' hotels.

Hello Steve J,

We appreciate you taking some time out to review your recent stay with us.

It sounds like you didn't get to enjoy the many amenities we have to offer. To name a few, we have two pools, both heated and chilled, a relaxing an intimate spa, and Distrito, our restaurant on property; which is owned and operated by Iron Chef Jose Garces!

We do hope you return to experience more of what we have to offer!
Until then…

Sincerely,
Morgan

We were only there for a night and the hotel was in a great location for a one night stay. Walking distance to Old Town. The rooms were a little small and the bathroom door is VERY heavy. Other than that, we didn't have any complaints. I wouldn't stay here for an extended stay, but for a short trip, the location and price couldn't be beat. There is a complimentary shuttle which is a nice touch. Also, the service is top notch.

Hello Tracelbirds0809,

Thank you for taking some time out to review your recent stay with us!

Everyone loves the complimentary shuttle we offer. We also have complimentary bicycles so you can bike all around Old Town Scottsdale. That is if you feel comfortable riding a bright orange or pink bike around!

We hope next time you will be able to stay a little longer to enjoy more of our amenities!

Sincerely,
Morgan K

We had shopping bags missing out of our hotel room after housekeeping came (the first time in 3 nights) during our recent stay. We contacted the front desk, and was told that a manager would contact me as soon as possible. I had to contact the manager myself, as he didn't think updating me on the issue was warranted. I received a cold "no" when I asked if there was anything they could do. There was approximately $150 of merchandise stolen, and they weren't even willing to investigate further.
I just want to clarify that I am not insinuating the staff stole our property, but I thought perhaps they threw the bag out on accident. Was the Saguaro willing to investigate into that as well? Definitely not. Doesn't matter, not their problem.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, under any circumstances, which is disappointing, since it had started off as such a lovely stay.

Buyer Beware, don't go down to the pool unless you feel like taking your suitcase with you.

Hello Amy b,

Thank you for your review about your stay.

I do apologize about your lost merchandise; this is not a normal occurrence. I did check into the investigation and everyone is still aware of the situation and they are keeping their eyes peeled for the bags.

If you would like to talk further on the issue, please feel free to contact me directly at mkunse@jdvhotels.com.

We hope this did not tarnish your opinions of us.

Sincerely,

We booked 4 rooms and when we got together for breakfast the next morning, we were all raving about the comfortable beds! I've traveled so many places in the U.S. and around the world but I have never slept in a better bed in any hotel, not even the most expensive ones. The location of the hotel is fantastic, a block away from old town and everything that it has to offer. Their Distrito restaurant is great - a little pricey and not too generous but the food is memorable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The water pressure in the shower in my room was a little weak but a co-worker staying 2 doors down said the water pressure in his room was very strong so maybe there's some water pressure inconsistency issues. The room itself was fine - TV reception a little weak on some stations. But all in all, the hotel was hip and fun, the décor was pleasant enough and a little understated. I definitely enjoyed my stay there.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that doesn't face the main road as traffic can be a little loud.

Hello Danychalhoub,

We appreciate you taking some time out to write a review about your stay with us in Scottsdale!
I do have to agree with you, our beds are amazing, one of the best! And, like you said, just a block away from Old Town Scottsdale. Everything you need is within walking distance, no car needed here!

Fun little fact, Distrito is actually owned and operated by Iron Chef Jose Garces! No wonder why the food is so yummy!

We hope to see you back soon!

Sincerely,
Morgan K

We stayed here for four days and three nights. My husband and his buddies played golf all over Scottsdale while I enjoyed the use of the spa. We all used the pool which was lovely. Our rooms faced the Calma pool which was beautiful and on the quiter side which we appreciated. The restuarant was good with very attentive staff. While we were there, The Scottsdale Culinary Festival was occuring which was right behind Distrito. It was so much fun and perfect weather and we just had to walk right outside of the hotel.
The Spa was casual but my massage was amazing! Heather did a fantastic job on my whole body and the price was great too.
Although the hotel is not brand new but refurbished we didn't need anything swanky for our trip. If that is what we wanted, we would have stayed at a place like that. This hotel is casual and friendly with great service. Perfect for our little group getaway!

Room Tip: For a quiter stay, ask for the rooms facing the Calma pool in building 2. That's where we stayed...

Just spent a weekend at the Saguaro. We had a blast. We took advantage of the bikes, restaurant, pool and the amazing location in the middle of old town. Bell staff is amazing and will do anything for anyone. While sitting by the pool, I was already looking at dates to rebook. I thought this hotel would not be a fit for the kids, however, next time we will bring our children.

We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary. We chose this hotel because of the atmosphere and location. The culinary festival was literally out the back door of the hotel, which was super convenient. It's also right in the heart of old town and within walking distance to shops and bars. The valet/bell hops are so helpful when you arrive. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are in a separate building from the check in. There were two pools, one with a bar and one without. Both have extremely comfortable lounge chairs! You can tell that the hotel is old but remodeled. It had a modern yet vintage feel. The rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable. I thought he price was a little on the high side, but then again it is the middle of prime season in Arizona. I would stay again!
