“Great park to hike/explore in North Scottsdale area”

Small parking lot (bigger than Camelback though), restrooms at trailhead and a great trail to explore with family or alone. The trail is so well marked with signs describing the flora/fauna of the desert. We went on a Friday before New Year's Eve weekend and although it was crowded, we found a space in the lot and didn't have any trouble on the trail. 1.75 miles in each direction, not a straight up and down hike but up and down the entire time. This is not a technical climb, merely a walk/run on the trail path but ascents and descents can be taxing on those who are not in decent shape. Pretty views of Scottsdale/Troon from the top.

This can be a family outing on the weekend, vacation or on a holiday. The park is located to the west of Jomax and Alma School Rd in North Scottsdale. Park in the street or lot. At the base of the Peak are restrooms and information. The climb is swift with amazing views. Plants are marked. A panoramic rest stop with benches is near the peak. Many hikers (and some joggers) going up and down at the same time on the well worn path. Jagged rocks are occasionally present. Give it 40-60 minutes round trip. Longer with children or if you continue down the other rigorous side of the Peak to the west.
