Owner description: Site where earth-formed concrete structures contain the ceramic workshop and foundry where the famous Soleri windbells are made and sold.

Tourists and locals alike miss this amazing creation of the late Pablo Solari. This is the foundry that creates the unique brass bells. Even if you are not shopping for a gift, it is worth a visit. The size and shape of the bells are very interesting - and the sound is amazing. Plus you can tour the foundry and learn more about the architect.

Yes, the bells are very interesting. I could have watched the men working at the foundry for quite a long time if the heat hadn't been over 105! That was fascinating. The wonderful woman at the front was quite informative and so incredibly nice. However, it seems this attraction (sadly) has seen better days and could truly use revitalization. There were cobwebs everywhere and the netting hanging over the store and around the area was almost torn to shreds in places. It seems from the books and older photos (in the store) that this was once a vibrant community. I was disappointed.

A friend recommended we stop to see these famous bells. A couple of our friends recently bought these bells for wedding gifts. This place is tucked away in a very nice neighborhood. It was the feel of a commune. The bells are incredible. The place is a little odd and that adds to the charm.

Off the wall and out of sight tucked away is Cosanti, an opportunity to pick out and test the many varieties of the famous bells. You can actually see where they are made and there is a showroom showcasing the many beautiful bells. They range from as low as $98 to thousands of dollars. The staff are more than happy to explain the history, finish and how to hang the bells. It is a learning experience worth the visit

I expected a little more information on Soleri. The buildings looked as if they were about to crumble (though they were unique and interesting - seemed very impractical). The wind bells are very nice and they have an excellent selection. The staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful but there attention was dominated by a single person.
