Only had one night in Scottsdale on a busy tour of SW USA, but had sussed this place out before we left England - glad we did. Was really surprised at the strength of the craft beer movement in the US and pleasantly surprised. This micro brewery was excellent; the bar/restaurant had seating for food both inside and out (yes, it was warm enough to sit outside in October!). You can also eat at the bar, which we did and had a great conversation with the barman, who was very knowledgeable; although I managed to enlighten him on how the beer Porter got its name! The brew house was actually in a room off the bar and you could see the fermenting vessels doing their vital work. We had nachos and pizzas and enjoyed them both. The beer was excellent but very strong - the Imperial IPA was 8.5%!! Not for a session! Also had a long chat about beer with one of the locals, Todd, he was a really nice guy. Proudly left with my Fate Brewery tee shirt and a handful of beer mats! Good luck to the Fate Brewery and to the craft beer movement generally in the US.
