“A residential feel in Scottsdale”
Reviewed 13 October 2011

If you want to visit Scottsdale, hobnob at the amazing resorts, golf, shop, tour and then return to a quiet, not flashy abode, this place is it. These vacation condos are older and built when condos were large. The "studio" is actually a main floor with a king bed, livingroom/dining combo, kitchen and full bath. Then the stairs lead to a loft with a queen size bed and balcony. Dated furnishings, nothing snazzy, but, immaculate and spacious. The rest of my family stayed in the 2 bedroom condo. Vaulted ceilings, large living/dining, nice kitchen and private patio. You could host a Thanksgiving for 8 in the diningroom. Amenities are modest. Basic outdoor pool and spa. Small outside bar. The two bartenders will quickly memorize your preferences. Small grill restaurant with typical burgers, etc. Nothing fancy but convenient. Can't comment on the full service spa because we didn't use it. All in all, the immaculate grounds, the spacious condos and the great location just next door to the world famous Phoenician make this a great place for those seeking a quiet place to enjoy Scottsdale. Would work well with families who have small children.

Room Tip: Request condos farthest away from Camelback Road.

This resort is a little dated but in a great location just a couple minutes from Old Town and fashion Square. We stayed in a 3 bedroom unit and the downstairs bedroom had a goofy bathroom setup with no door so anyone could walk around the corner and see me shaving in the buff. I would probably not stay here again although they did have very nice tennis courts and plenty of family activities and a nice grill on site.

This little resort has become our favorite spot to stay in Scottsdale. Although the villas could use a little updating, they are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The two-bedroom villas have two bathrooms and all the villas have a small washer and dryer, which is a GREAT amenity! The kitchens are stocked with the basic utensils (even a corkscrew!) so we get groceries and make many of our own meals, saving us serious $$. Attached to the main building, there is a beautiful deck area with a big hot tub, heated pool, and an outdoor bar, and the bartenders are friendly and fun to visit with. There is a pretty decent fitness room with several newer treadmills. Another plus - the location is ideal. It is located about 20 minutes from the airport, close to the 101 and Old Town, and beautiful Camelback Mountain is in the backyard. There is a small trail that weaves throughout the resort with signs identifying local varieties of cacti and other native plants which we really enjoyed. Overall, lots of value for the price!

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT up against Camelback Road as it is a very busy and noisy street, and you can actu...

We just returned from a one week stay at this resort. The check in staff (Crista and Amanda) were very friendly and helpful. We had a studio unit and I was skeptical at first as we usually prefer 1 bedrooms units; however, the way this unit was laid out was very nice. It appeared to have new furniture and was very cozy. It had a nice loft area with a separate bed, TV, extra fan with lots of closet/storage space which made the unit seem larger. We actually did not feel like we were in a studio unit. The kitchen was very well equipped with a stackable washer/dryer. The only thing the kitchen did not have was an oven but that was not a problem for us. It had a nice balcony area where we spent time in the evenings. We also enjoyed the walking trail they have around the property with cactus along the way with notes telling you the kind of cactus that was there. The weather was very nice while we were there so we did spend time at the pool. Hot tub was out of service; however, they had an adult hot tub in the spa area if you really wanted one. Fitness center was well equipped and very nice. Overall, this was a very nice resort that was close to anything you wanted or needed and it was a couple of blocks from the Fashion Square (large shopping mall). It was also a very quiet resort which made our stay even more enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend this resort.

The grounds are nice, hot tub was out of service. LOVE the saltwater pools. The children's pool was a bit cold. The room was a bit dated but in good condition. Lots of space and clean. Our bathtub was peeling. It was like they had painted over the tub and the paint was peeling. That was our biggest issue. Restaurant was good and convenient. Staff was great, very nice.

This small gem of a resort offered a beautiful studio villa with a unique spacious layout that a family of 4 would appreciate! It's grounds were educational and had a view of the tip of the Camelback Mountain. It offered a small pool with an outdoor bar and small menu of hot food choices. I had the chicken wrap and it was perfect for a quick lunch. The beds were comfortable, however not "Marriott style." I slept without a backache. I did not use this resort to park myself and relax but rather as a hub to visit with my aunt and then tour Sedona Coconino Natl Park, Tucson Saguaro Natl Park, then the whole Apache Trail with Tonto Natl Forest. All having amazing American history to view and enjoy complete relaxation.
The studio villa was unique in having a large loft with a bed, extra fan (for white noise and extra cooling) and a balcony with 2 chairs and table overlooking the nice manicured grounds and nature walk. It had a full kitchen with stackable washer and dryer. The nice flat panel TV was mounted above the fireplace and the sofa was curved to make that a cozy area to relax. The decor was Southwest. Their was no odor to the place even though it was older. There was a thermostat control on the wall for cool air conditioning. The blinds did not shut to complete privacy and allowed the sun to beam in early AM, but I needed to be up to enjoy the trek of sightseeing daily.

The staff was warm and welcoming. They had handy directions preprinted on notecard sized paper to any place I asked about. With that and the GPS I was able to travel anywhere safely and easily on my own.

There was a spa that looked inviting. But I did not use.

There was ample parking. No valet. The resort was small enough to walk the entire property in about 20 minutes round trip. Very nice and quaint. The villas exterior were well maintained and southwest looking. I felt safe at all times.

Overall it was not the luxury accommodations I demand in a vacation, but for a stopover trip it was perfect for me. If I would have had my husband and tall teenage sons, I would have chosen a different place like Troon. But for me and the quaintness of it, it offered more than I really needed. I had a great time!

We have recently returned from a two week stay at The Scottsdale Camelback Resort and we absolutely loved it. We stayed in a studio apartment which was huge and came with an additional bedroom loft which was great for catching the sunsets over Camelback Mountain. The apartment was clean and well maintained with a kitchen which was exceptionally well equipped and had everything you could possibly want including a washer/dryer and dishwasher as well as all the usual kitchen items. Our apartment overlooked the putting Green which was just one of many on-site facilities at the resort which gave as a perfect view of some of Arizona's beautiful birds and wildlife. The place was so relaxing with really original activities around the pool and bar area everyday. We would especially like to thank all the staff at the resort for making our stay so fantastic especially Miss Gerry and the girls on Reception who were so helpful. We fully intend to return to this gorgeous little resort as soon as we can it was a fantastic place and we had a brilliant time.
