I travel quite a bit. I do a lot of research ahead of time and I try to avoid any unnecessary inconveniences by planning ahead! I had read about the proximity to the road and sent an e-mail to the address on SCR's front page of their web site and never got a response. I specifically requested a room away from the road and the inevitable traffic noise. When we checked into the resort, go figure, we were placed in a room right near the road (as in less than 100 feet from a busy road and bus stop). I was not happy considering this is what I tried to avoid. The girl at the front desk told me that you could barely hear the traffic noise (absolutely not true) and assured us that is was at least a mountain view... it was not. We had a lovely view of a circuit breaker on a power line. We called back down to the front desk to see if there were any other rooms available and she confirmed that there were not, but based on how few cars were in the parking lot, I had a hard time believe this statement as well. We asked when the manager would next be on duty and we'd try to resolve the issue then. I came to Scottsdale to relax and being in a room so close to a busy road was not relaxing! Needless to say, it took 2 days of phone calls and visits to the front desk to get our room moved to the back of the property. It was a pain in the butt to have to pack everything up and move, but what a difference it made!
The villas themselves are very nice and include all of the amenities you would want in a home away from home. My only complaint were the twin beds in the second bedroom. My 6'2" father, who joined my husband and I on this vacation, felt a little restricted in such a tiny bed! Other than that, the fireplace in the unit was a very nice touch and we enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, and walking trail. My other biggest complaint about the resort in general was the lack of free WiFi. This is simply unrealistic in this day in age. No, I do not sit in my room on the internet all day, but I certainly use it for figuring out where to go to dinner and what activities there are to do in the area. I also find it a little silly that they have an on-site movie theater that they charge for. Should that not be included, as well?
Again, I don't want to sound like it was a horrible place to stay. There's nothing they can do about the location now, but I believe there are some minor upgrades that can be made such as double-paned windows and doors (leading to the patio), free wifi throughout, a queen bed in the second bedroom, instead of 2 twins, and offering movies in the theater free of charge. (The girl at the front desk also told us that the windows and doors leading to the patio were double-paned, which they were not. We could literally feel air coming in from the crack between the two french doors, which also allowed the traffic noise to come right in!) I would recommend this resort ONLY if you were able to secure a room located on the back side of the property away from the road and with a true mountain view.

Room Tip: Absolutely request a room on the back side of the resort AWAY from the road.

Nice resort property in an excellent Scottsdale location. Not friendly. Unit B43. Clean with comfortable king bed and good bedding. Privacy for two. A second bed is located on the upper floor. One bathroom. The king bed area can be separated from the rest of the room by pulling around the bed a drape on an overhead track. Tub shower. Bar soap supplied (no shampoo, etc.) One packet of laundry soap (more may be purchased from the gift shop for $1). One packet each of regular and decaf coffee (more may be purchased from the gift shop). Theater on-premises; tickets $3 per person. Large outdoor hot tub and smaller one in the lower level spa. On arrival, our furnace wouldn't shut off; Maintenance came and cut the power. On our 6th night, it was cold so we turned the furnace on only to find it had not been repaired. Fireplace with no supplies. On check-out, we reported the furnace problem and also a slow-flushing stool. Ho Hum.

This is an excellent property where we stayed for a week. The check in was flawless and we found our two bedroom first floor villa amazing!. Parking in front with easy walking. The place is spotless both inside the villa and outside. It is close to shopping, golf, Old Town and restaurants. Beautiful interior decorations, large master bath, second small bath and all handicapped fitted! The Concierge services were excellent with printed directions to just about any place we asked about! The property has the feel of a small town with white stucco and tile roofed two story villas. There are lovely plantings with walking paths, a putting green, play area and grill locations. The place was decorated for Christmas and very festive. They have their own movie theatre and show films twice a day. A list of the offerings is in your welcome pack and on a board outside the doors. The pool is wonderful as well the hot tub and childrens pool. A bar and restaurant on property was welcomed and they offer daily specials at great prices. There were many activities we could have enjoyed but did not take advantage on this trip. Lovely place which does not look or feel like it has been around for 30 years!!! Congrats and Thanks

Room Tip: We are guessing all the rooms are excellent - we were in A5 which was located on the Camelback Road side of the complex and it was quiet. There is a high, thick wall around the complex which minimises noise from the road.

We have an RCI timeshare and decided to try this location. It is centrally located near Fashion Square mall and numerous restaurants. It is a timeshare so do not expect the services of a hotel.

Check in was efficient and quick which was great as it was 11pm and the kids were beyond ready for bed. We got a 2 bedroom unit (1 king bed / 2 twin beds) with 2 bathrooms on a single floor on the back of the property. It was spacious with a fireplace. The back patio could have been swept up of the leaves but other that that, the unit was clean. It was quiet at night.

They have a nice restaurant / grill on the premise. The pool is heated. They have activities for the kids during the week and show a movie everyday in their small theater. They have a small mini golf course, croquet area, and a play area for kids. They have a communal grill as well.

Very nice stay in a great location. Will be back.

A friend of ours used his timeshare to trade into this resort and we are glad that he did. The resort is in the Scottsdale area of Phoenix and is just a short car ride to grocery stores, restaurants, shopping in Old Town Scottsdale and golf.

This well kept resort is fairly small and very easy to get around. We found all of the staff very helpful and friendly, Our unit was a spacious two bedroom with a nice covered balcony to sit out on. The furnishings were getting a little dated but the unit was very clean and had very comfortable beds.

The highlight of the resort is its beautiful pool area which has a poolside bar and grill. In the evening there is a gas fireplace that is nice to sit around. The food was very good and we appreciated that they had takeout after arriving back late from a road-trip.

There are planned activities that take place throughout the day and the resort has tennis courts just behind the pool. Also worth mentioning is the very nice spa area, theater, convenience kiosk and on site concierge.

Although this is not the most luxurious resort/timeshare out there I would have to say it has everything you could ever want. Highly recommended
