We stayed 4 days here while enjoying some Spring Training games and soaking up some Arizona sun. Very nicely kept property - the grounds are well-manicured, pool area and lobby are also well cared for. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with a variety of berries, pastries and even an omelet chef (we only ate breakfast there each morning).

The pool was very nice and the lounges were comfortable. Towels are provided. You need to get there early because many people stake out their lounge by throwing their stuff on it and then go about their business.

The room was nice but not spectacular. The bathroom was utilitarian and small. I did like the patio area outside of our room where we relaxed and had many drinks. The only negative I can offer was that, being on the st floor, people were loud in the hallway, I was awakened a number of times by shouting people, slamming doors, etc. Noise abatement (or simple people's courtesy) could have improved our experience.

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms have patio 2nd floor rooms may have good view but no patio/balcony

I called the hotel to let them know we would be late and they could go ahead and charge my card. They were quite helpful and quick to get everything taken care of. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are very nice and clean. Over all our experience was great. We would stay there again.

This resort was great - very homey and relaxed. The property itself is a bit dated. We stayed in the hotel area with a pool view. The room wasn't spectacularly updated, however, it was clean. Clean enough to feel comfortable taking a bath.

I travel all over for business and stay in many hotels and this is the first of 6 months of hotel stays that I have stayed in a room that was so clean. The staff are happy, friendly and kind. My favorite part of the stay was watching the hummingbirds in the trees outside my window in the morning.

The location is great, near the 101 for easy access to other parts of the valley and also close enough to Old Scottsdale that it's easy to grab a quick bite to eat. There's a Starbucks and Jamba Juice within a mile on Indian Bend and Scottsdale Rd.

We loved our stay here and will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room. We were in the back of the property which made parking a lot easier.

This hilton is not easy to give upgrades during prime time, but it is a great get away otherwise. Flowers, flowers, and more flowers smile at you from the easy drive up and throughout the airy lobby and open air restaurant nearby. Hot coffee, tea or water is plentiful in the lobby for the taking, and the clerks are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings of wood on the second floor, but I missed not having a balcony to sit out on in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. Bathroom was functional but not special. But the ice bucket was filled nightly, and we got fresh bottles of water and chocolates nightly, and a surprise gift of trail mix on day one. One robe was in the closet?? The pool was large and separate hot tub and kiddy pool was available. The kitchen was delicious with happy hour specials, that were a nightly treat for us. When we ordered the cheese tray, out came a huge wood cutting board overflowing with dried and fresh fruit, cheeses, olives, crostini all for half price, net $4.50. And drinks were also half price. Sitting among the flowers, chirping birds in the Arizona munching on all this added special moments of pleasure to the relaxation vacation! Breakfasts were huge buffet assortments of standard fare plus meats, freshly made to order waffles or omelets, and delicious sweet offerings.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view and first floor room, they have patios.

Having waited until January to plan a much-needed break from the relentless east coast winter, we opted for adjoining rooms here for our family of four as many if the other highly rated hotels/resorts were booked solid. We were only a little wary of the inconsistent reviews because it is a Hilton - which we typically find reliable.

With the sun finally warming your skin after a brutal winter, there is little that will dampen your spirits. The Scottsdale Hilton turned out to be a good choice for our home base for a few days, though with some minor issues that could be easily addressed by the management.

We enjoyed:

- Fresh buffet breakfast poolside with loads of fresh fruit and plenty of items to chose from. The entertainment provided by the chirping birds added to the fun. (Though your have to watch your croissants!)

- Abundant colorful flowers planted all around the exterior and the pool deck.

- The large nicely-appointed rooms with handy items like a powerful hair dryer, magnifying mirror, safe, iron, etc..

- The pool was maintained at a nice temperature and was very inviting.

- Walking/running trail a couple blocks from the hotel.

- St Patricks Day cookies were a nice touch.

- The location is perfect for access to the Cactus League games as well as shopping and restaurants.

The negatives:

- The chairs, tables and surfaces around the pool were in need of real cleaning - not just a rinsing off with a hose - and at more times throughout the day. Some guests were leaving plates of half eaten meals and sticky drink cups around.

- The water urn and towel area needed to be refreshed more often. By afternoon is was looking untidy.

- The toilet and baths in the rooms were also in need of a good scrub - perhaps using a bleach scrub on the black stains on the tub bottom.

- Our pool-view rooms were indeed noisy - due from the echoes from the courtyard, the hallways and the seemingly thin walls and ceilings. In the very early mornings we heard people on their phones in the pool area, children playing in the hallways, or whistling a tune in the glass entryway sitting areas. Given that we were on the edge of sleep due to jet lag, these were particularly annoying. I would remove the seating there - as the noise is magnified by the glass and echoes down the hallways.

- There appeared to be was a genuine absence of management the entire time we were there. Perhaps that would be a good place to start - by taking a walk around the property around 6:30am to address the noises. We are Honors members, but we were never contacted in any way by management to inquire about our stay.

- The only time I saw someone was even sitting at the concierge was the first evening we arrived.

- I could not readily find information about the gym facilities. There was a sign about a yoga class 1 day - for extra charge. I looked in the book in the rooms, but there was nothing.

We would definitely stay again - perhaps if we booked earlier we would try for the Villas.

The hotel is in a convenient location, the staff for the most part were very nice. The concierge, Margaret was the most helpful person on the property. Never saw any managers around at all. Our room was next to an "Engine Room" as one other poster had called it, and we did not sleep
at all. Hotel was full so no chance of moving. The wall vibrated from the loud noise of the all
the machinery. When we checked in there were a lot of delays. We were told the room that we
originally were supposed to have was having the rugs cleaned and an ozone machine had been
placed in there ( so guessing somebody had smoked in the room?) Our room also was so dark
with no view as the trees are growing up right next to the one small window. The bathroom was
the smallest I have ever seen. This was supposed to be a Jr. Suite. Not really.
Breakfast was very good. The pool could have been nice, but there were piles of dirty dishes
everywhere and wet towels just left on the pool chairs. Up next to the pool bar there were piles
of dishes and dirty glasses all three days we were there. Did not want to sit next to the pool
since we could not find a place not littered with used dishes etc. Suggest they hire a pool attendant during the busy time of year just to go around and take orders and straighten up.
Would have been much nicer. This is definitely a big convention hotel and the baseball season
is busy. Not a top-notch hotel and it could be if some attention was paid to smaller details-especially at the pool. Need some brighter lamps in the rooms too. So dark and dismal furnishings. Needs a facelift. We went to some great restaurants and did the Desert Botanical
Garden. Happy when we were not in our room!!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms next to the "Engine Room" Marked Staff Utility room. Room very dark too.

Thank you for being with us and for this feedback regarding your stay at our resort. I do apologize for the issues you experienced and have addressed them with the staff involved, from engineering on the mechanical room noise to the pool staff not properly keeping up with the heavy use of the pools. As we discussed on the phone after your departure, we will address the issues and have tried to make amends for the negative impact that they had on your stay. We thank you for the compliments of our Concierge, Margaret, as well as your breakfast experience and have passed them onto them. We do hope that you will give us another opportunity to show you that these issues have been resolved and that our resort team is better than this. Thank you again.

My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights in March and all of us loved the location. The rooms were very quiet - I know there were other people staying at the hotel, but seriously never saw anyone in the halls. I loved the quiet and the gym was one of the nicer ones I've seen at a hotel.

Every staff member we came across was very nice and went out of their way to help us. It was a very comfortable place to be. I would stay here again when visiting Scottsdale.
