“Spring break”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

Having been to Scottsdale twice before and staying at another hotel I would recommend the Fairmont. I definitely would stay here again. Location is a little out from the main drag but the highway is easy to access and gets you to where you want to go. Facilities are beautiful and well maintained. Stayed in Building B which was just steps from the South Pool which we enjoyed everyday. Some of the other rooms seemed quite far from the main hotel area and saw people using golf carts to get to them. I was glad we had a great location for a room. Beautiful views from our room of the mountains. Breakfast buffet in the morning was yummy with lots of selections. Loved all the areas with fire pits that are lit up at night. Dining one evening at La Hacienda for dinner and the food was great. A wonderful place to relax after a very long and cold winter at home.

Loved the hotel, grounds, restaurants, staff, and surroundings. We have stayed at this property on two occasions. Each time the rooms, in particular the bathrooms have been good but not perfect. Most people may not even notice.

I informed the hotel staff about the problems at check out. The gentleman at the front desk who checked me out didn't seem interested in knowing the details. He said he would have someone take a look.

I own a business. If someone took the time to help me improve my business I would take the time to listen and do something nice for their help in making my business better. Unfortunately this didn't happened. A missed opportunity in my eyes.

Room Tip: They are all lovely. We have stayed in the casitas and in the B building. Both nice.

My husband and I had a weekend here and it was just marvelous. Loved the lobby and bar area - very cool. Bagpiper at sunset was a nice touch. Room was lovely. Hotel service was great overall. The only bad things were the slow and spotty service at the pool - the pool area itself was great, though. Also, we had the worst massages of our lives at the spa. The masseuses were just awful. And the spa itself was a little icky and loud. But everything else was just delightful. We would definitely return, we would just go to a different spa.

I attended a business trip here in mid March. The room was very clean and roomy, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large. The pool areas were fantastic. Great service lounge side for food and drinks-although a little pricey but what do you expect when at a pool bar! I was told by several members in the group that the golf course was not worth the green fee and to go to nearby courses which were equal or cheaper for a round and in much better condition.

Hello MJBALT,

It is wonderful you were able to find some time on your business trip to enjoy the comforts of the resort and we appreciate you taking a moment to share your thoughts on the accommodations and amenities. We are delighted they were to your liking! On your next visit, we highly recommend you explore our two adjacent world-class golf courses. The TPC Stadium Course, home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, is being re-designed and re-opening this fall and is always meticulously maintained to PGA standards. The TPC Champions Course rivals its sister course in beauty and playability, where the fees are commensurate with municipal golf facilities combined with a championship golf experience. We offer complimentary shuttles to these courses, as well as other top-rated courses nearby at Grayhawk Golf Club. Please let us know if we can assist you and we look forward to seeing you again!

The grounds of this hotel are beautiful. However, we had a terrible stench (human waste) in one of the rooms and it was not addressed for 24 hours and then no call from management. The workout facility is subpar unless you are willing to pay to use a nicer workout facility. How ridiculous is that? Also, they do not offer a complimentary business center! Are you kidding? Every 2 star hotel in America offers a complimentary business center.

Beautiful huge hotel sits on 66 acres of lovely landscape. The accommodations were what you expect from a Fairmont property. The 5 pools accommodated everyone's needs from little kids to peace seeking adults. The staff met all of our needs with a smile. The spa is top notch. We will return for sure .

The place was ok in terms of room and the valet's did a good job, but when you get raked over the coals with high priced everything and the service isn't there, it really sucks. Check in at the official 4 time and head over to pool with the kids around 4:45 and wonder where the help is. I got an abrupt 'last call' for any service - we close at 5 (In the am the pool services does not start until 11). Ok, head over to another pool and ask a couple people where I can get a beverage - "go upstairs" was all I got from a passing employee. The Mexican restaurant on site was ok, but service was mediocre from staff that seemed too cool for their jobs. So my overall impression was always wandering around a large property more designed for large events to look for $6 bottles of water in the desert. On check out I asked for a late check out due to flight and was told no, "there is another person coming into that room who requested an early check-in". So I said that guest is more important than me? The front desk troll should have just told me it was not possible & I told her that, but she just argued with me that she was being straight - its called no tact. I did have a good breakfast and lost & found assisted me with lost item, so not all bad. But if your a traveler that likes more intimate setting & better service / convenience, I would look elsewhere.

Room Tip: Casitas room was good sized
