It was a very good place to stay for downtown Scottsdale.
We could walk everywhere, near the mall or old town.
Rooms were great and very nicely furnished.
Breakfast was good and the pool was lovely.
My only quibble was the coffee provided in the room.....could have been a better brand.
We stayed in the Hyatt Place last year, and I like this hotel better!!!!!

If you are planning a trip to see the Giants play during Spring Training, as was the purpose of my trip, look no futher than the Hyatt Place. Located in the heart of old town, hotel is a 10 minute walk from the stadium and 5 minutes from all the nightlife of Scottsdale.

Two tips...one for visitors and one for the hotel.

Visitors, ask for a high level room close to the pool. There is a nightclub, Jackrabbit, that is literally adjacent to the hotel and on weekends at about 2 am when the place closes, it gets very loud.

Hotel, get riD of the guardrails and shades on the windows. We literally had piegons perch there every morning at 6 AM and you would think they were in the room with us given the noise and proximity to our bed.

Hello GregComo,

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and that you were able to take advantage of our prime location and proximity to Scottsdale Stadium.

We are aware of the challenge faced with the pigeons in the area and are working with our pest control company to find a solution.

We hope to see you again next year for Spring Training!

Sincerely,

Janet Woolf-Hof

We spent a week in this hotel in February 2012 for vacation and visiting of friends in the area. The hotel is in a great location, very convenient to walk to Oldtown Scottsdale.
I can't confirm the comments from some other reviewers about noisy club across the street - although I have to admit that at check-in we asked to get a quiet room, which the personnel was very accomodating for.
Personnel overall extremely friendly and helpful - didn't frankly not quiet expect this, so this was a good surprise.
The "average" rating for value below is primarily driven by the pretty high cost for hotel rooms in general in this time of the year in Scottsdale - even for a nice Hyatt Place Hotel like this one, $200 per night are too much.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the club

Just home from a 7 day stay at the Hyatt and we have nothing but good to say about the hotel. Location is excellent, within walking distance to Old Town, the trolley, Arts District, etc.
We went with another couple. Our needs were looked after attentively by the staff - very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts as there was something for everyone. Fresh fruit with yogurt and those delicious pastries was my favorite. Overall a very good experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lower room number (quiet side) to avoid weekend party noise. Worked for us!

Very Easy and at walking distance of the old town.
Comfortable rooms. Breakfast area is ok, but could be better in terms of choices.

Every time I stay in Scottsdale I stay at the Hyatt Place. It is a short walk from Old Town Scottsdale, which has everything you need from coffee to western wear and some of the finest restaurants. The rooms have a mini-fridge and wet bar with a large couch that has a pull out bed. The TV is large and has input for all of your child’s electronic games. They are extremely friendly and helpful with directions or suggestions for places to eat. A top notch hotel for a good price, in the summer the rates are very low. Great free breakfast in the morning too.

I stayed at this location from a Saturday through Monday. The location and staff were great, but it was just too noisy for me. I was on the second floor and I could hear everything outside (other guest rolling their bags into and out of the hotel) and inside (guest talking in the hallway). I was unable to get a good night's rest either night I was there. The hotel is near a club and on Saturday night, the noise was non-stop until 3 am. Plus the parking lot filled as the club opened. The hotel gives guest parking passes but from what I saw, that did not help during the club's hours.

I got this hotel for a lower price then the other hotels near it, but next time I think I will spend a little extra. I'm not sure what the hotel can do to reduce the noise.
