“Experience not great”
Reviewed 11 December 2012

Stayed here the night before an early flight out the next morning with the impression it would be quieter than staying at the airport. Boy, what a mistake that was. We had a room street side and located right on a corner with a traffic light. All through the night the sounds of cars and motorcycles stopping and accelerating, fire trucks and sirens.

To add insult to injury, at 5 a.m. when we were checking out, the elevators were “out of order” on the second floor and we had to carry our luggage down a stairwell, only to question opening a door that said Emergency Exit in bold red letters. Luckily we did not set off any alarms. The front desk clerk was unaware the elevators were out and could not do anything for us since we Pre-Paid our reservation.

We did not spend much time at this hotel, but the room was clean and a good size and had free WI-FI. If you decide on staying here, I would ask for a (very) quiet room or bring ear plugs. Our experience was not great.

This hotel is well-situated for easy walking to Old Town Scottsdale. The rooms are spacious and very nicely furnished. I had a room at the end of the hall on the top floor and it was very quiet. Free underground parking is a plus. I managed to score a great rate by checking their website periodically. Full-service breakfast with made-to-order omelets and griddle food. I'll definitely stay here again if I come back.

I was in town to run the Fiesta Bowl half marathon and chose this hotel for it's proximity to both the start/finish line of the race but also for its location near Old Town Scottsdale. I stayed two nights and had an excellent experience with this hotel.

I booked the room a few months in advance but, as I always do, I went back to their website and checked the rates about a week before arriving and saw that the rate had dropped significantly. I rebooked my room at this new, lower rate. What was an okay rate for a full-service Hilton property now became a bargain rate.

The rooms are large, nicely furnished, clean and comfortable and - most important to me - quiet! The desk staff were all friendly and courteous. Breakfast was amazing! made-to-order omelets and griddle food along with a large fresh fruit assortment, pastries, meats on the buffet.

The carafes/urns of fruit-infused ice-cold water in the lobby is an elegant and very nice touch.

I love the fact that it has a free underground parking garage right beneath the hotel. Very convenient!

If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, choose a higher floor and a room as far away from the elevator as possible.

The hotel was ok. Rooms were average, I was impressed that the housekeeping staff left towels and amenities on my door when the do not disturb sign was out. Food was awful (how do you make a pizza that is in edible). Then I spotted the giant bug crawling across the floor, which is when I decided to leave and wait at the airport for six hours.

For the price this was a great place to stay. Modern, clean, professional staff (Luke was very responsive), decent fitness center, nice pool area. It is located within walking distance of most of the shops and restaurants in Old Town. I stayed on 7th floor, odd room number side of building and it was very quiet. Do not settle for the double beds if you have a need for a restful sleep, those beds are old and uncomfortable. Great place overall.

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and the end of our holiday. It is a modern hotel conveniently located just a minute's walk away across the road to the Old Town with all its shopping and restaurants. We stayed for four nights and then on return for one night. It has free secure underground car parking with direct lift access so you do not have to struggle with luggage at any stage.
The staff are an absolute asset to this hotel and are to be much praised. Naturally, as visitors we had a number of questions about various things and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was excellent with small sitting room bathroom, coffee making area and then bedroom. The air conditioning worked wonderfully and everything was very impressive. There is also a laundry room which is particularly useful if you are on a long holiday. Use of the machines is very reasonable and soap powder et cetera is available in the small shop at the hotel. The hotel also has Jakes Bar where food is also served. It is close to the pool during the day so perhaps that is where it does most business .However, again whilst the staff were absolutely delightful and it serves bar food, the atmosphere really cannot compete with the Old Town restaurants and bars. (See our reviews of Bandera, Tommy V's and AZ88).
There is also a restaurant in the hotel but again it has difficulty competing with nearby local restaurants for the same reasons. The hotel restaurant is also used for the breakfast service. Again, the breakfast service staff some of whom are from Jakes, are so very friendly and welcoming. There is a great atmosphere in this hotel and a palpable feeling that the staff are happy to work there. The breakfast is extensive with table service for coffee tea and juices. There is also a cooked to order omelette service bar where you can also take fried eggs, bacon etc.
We really enjoyed both our stay at this hotel. There is only one very minor matter we would mention, and that is that there are no safes in the rooms and you have to access a safety deposit box at reception. Talking with the Management we understand this is soon to be remedied. On the first occasion we had a room at the back of the hotel and on the second at the front. There was no noise disturbance.
This is a really great hotel, and a wonderful location for the old town and exploring elsewhere in Scottsdale all of which is within short walking distance. We were made to feel comfortable from the word go and were remembered on our return by welcoming reception staff. We would strongly recommend this hotel.
