Owner description: Red Rock State Park is a 286 acre nature preserve and environmental education center with stunning scenery. Trails throughout the park wind through manzanita and juniper to reach the rich banks of Oak Creek. Green meadows are framed by native vegetation and hills of red rock. The creek meanders through the park, creating a diverse riparian habitat abounding with plants and wildlife. This riparian habitat provides the setting and the opportunity for the park to offer a focus on environmental education. Red Rock offers a variety of special programs for school groups and private groups. There are a number of daily and weekly park events. The park offers a visitors center, classroom, theater, park store, ramada and hiking trails.

Follow the Oak Creek paths and you will wind you way to incredible views of the Cathedral Rock formation, and the creek itself and it's branches provide a shady walking trail.

Families come here to swim, kids love playing here and the water is clear, flowing and refreshing. This ended up being a very pleasant morning. There is a basic map but you really have to walk on past the paved areas to capture this experience.

This was an incredible park and ideal for a picnic. Plan to spend the entire day here....playing! There is the creek to play in, several fields for games....great place to view
Cathedral rock....the only dislike...you are not able to use the federal state park pass here and need to pay an entrance fee....I didn't mind though, I got great pictures!

Super awesome walk to Buddha Beach. Breathtaking views and an amazing time splashing around in the water.

This park was a mile from where we stayed so we visited twice. The lower park has nice trails and a visitors center. The upper park has a creek with swimming holes where you could jump off the rocks into cool refreshing water. The reflection of the mountains in the water is the most famous photograph of Sedona. Wear good walking shoes and don't wear white! The red dust gets all over you.

Not much to do in the park, not much hiking and certainly no hikes up into the red rocks, I figured hikes in red rock park would have much better hiking available.
