“Can't wait to return!”
Reviewed 24 June 2009

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Honeysuckle cabin which is the only one-story cabin in Canyon Wren. We were definitely NOT disappointed! My boyfriend made plans with our WONDERFUL hosts, Mike and Milena, to propose. They suggested the porch swing in front of the cabin and placed a bottle of champagne in our refrigerator to celebrate! It was perfect! We chose to eat breakfast out by the office and we got a chance to have a long visit with Milena. There are hiking trails within walking distance (which Milena shows on a map when you check in), but we decided not to hike because we just loved spending time watching the birds at our fountain, reading on the porch swing and playing cards on the patio. We did, however decide to have lunch down by the creek. It is literally across the street and down the hill where my now FIANCE and I enjoyed a picnic completely alone and skipped rocks. It was a WONDERFUL weekend! It was hard to leave.

The journal entries and the cabin tradition (which you need to find out) provide a sense of belonging. A great retreat from the city.

Wonderful place of beauty, peacefulness, with awesome and easy trails nearby to take in the red rock walls of Oak Creek Canyon. The hosts are awesome serving for breakfast the best homemade muffins, pastry, and fresh fruit. Cabins are pristine clean, charming, and the private deck views are lovely!

This review is long overdue. We stayed there back in February for two nights. After a business trip to Scottsdale, I wanted to surprise my spouse with a little cabin getaway, and the Canyon Wren was everything I thought it would be. The reviews are accurate and the Canyon Wren deserves all the praise it gets. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cozy. The bed was also very comfortable. Each night we built a roaring fire with the supplied wood...it crackled and popped. The attention given to all the little details made our brief stay wonderfully relaxing. The kitchen was well-stocked (wine opener, sugar for coffee in the morning, little creamers and, of course, the delicious brownies). It was so nice waking up to the sound of singing birds and looking out at the snowcapped mountain. We will return to the Canyon Wren sometime in the future when we can enjoy the patio and grill. Before our departure we spent some time with Mike and Melena over breakfast. Our only regret upon leaving was that we had not gotten to spend more time with them.

We stayed on June 11-13 for our 21st anniversary. We wished we could of spent a few more days. When we first arrived, Caroline gave us a tour of the place and shared with us some good places to hike and to watch the sunset (thank you). We enjoyed all the humming birds and the serentiy the cabins had to offer, like sitting on the deck looking up at the stars at night, cooking our dinner on the grill which felt like our own private oasis. It was so much fun! We felt if was one of the best bed and breakfast places we have stayed in. It was also a nice treat to get brownies every day, yum! We would do it again.

We spent 3 nights at the Canyon Wren in late May 2009. We enjoyed every moment. The cottages are clean, well kept, comfortable, spacious and quiet. The location is great. It is not in the commercial area of Sedona, but close enough for a short ride to the shops and restaurants. There are hummingbird feeders by each cottage. The birds put on a non stop show. There are more feeders in the garden with hundreds of other wild birds to watch and enjoy.

The proprieters are helpful and the breakfast muffins were yummy. We highly recommend the Canyon Wren and hope to return.

Canyon Wren Cabins are comfortable and clean. The setting is spectacular, with views of the red rock mountains. It is close to all the attractions of Sedona and Flagstaff, but offers a quiet place to relax and get away from noise & traffic. The owners are wonderful - friendly, helpful, welcoming.

my husband and I had a wonderful time at the Canyon Wren. I got the feeling that we weren't the typical age of the folks that normally stay there, but the hosts made us feel at home and welcomed. We had a beautiful time, and enjoyed the rooms, the atmosphere, the total experience. We would love to go back.
