“Generous hosts”
Reviewed 6 May 2007

Just stayed at Canyon Wren cabins for three nights and we can't say enough about how nice it was. Mike and Milena are very generous, both with their time in helping us with local advice and recommendations, and with Mike's enormous chocolate afternoon brownies! The property seems to be an ongoing art project for Mike and Milena, with no corner untouched by gardens, birds, and babbling fountains. Their two dogs will be so excited to see you that they will run laps around the yard, just to show off. This will be our place to stay whenever we return to Sedona.

Wonderful stay in Arizona

Sedona, Arizona
Canyon Wren Cabins

Stayed several days at the bed and breakfast cabins. Host were helpful and friendly. Cabins were unique, quiet and peaceful. This is a great place to relax and enjoy nature while being close to major attractions. The country side is wonderful to look at or explore. Great place for couples to stay and unwind from the stress of everyday living.

What a spot! My first visit to Sedona in over 20 years and, of course, the town is more commercial now. However, these cabins are six miles north of Sedona in the scenic Oak Creek Canyon, away from the bustle, nestled in the trees sorrounded by towering red rock cliffs and across the street from Oak Creek. Slide Rock State Park is a short hop down the road. The cabins are seemingly brand new, spacious, yet cozy and quaint. Functional kinchenette with coffee maker, microwave, fridge, etc.
"Continental" breakfast that you can stuff yourself on a selection of heavenly homemade pastries and fresh fruit. Wonderfully comfortable bed with a functional fireplace in the room with good firewood in unlimited supply and kindling so that making a fire is a snap (we had one every night). Outside deck with a porch swing that got beautiful morning sun coming down the canyon about 8 AM. But the highlight were the wild birds, especially hummingbirds. I've never had a hummingbird sit on my finger before! Owners are cool people. Don't miss this! Jim

Awesome! We'd definitely book one of the cabins again on a future visit to Sedona.

Mike and Milena were very gracious and fun to talk to (thank you, Milena, for letting me ramble on while we watched the house finches and goldfinches at the feeder!).

Their knowledge of Sedona, especially the available hiking, is fantastic.

Hugs to Zoe and Wookie -- their very friendly dogs!

The cabin itself was very cozy, with a nice fireplace (wood supplied), roomy whirlpool tub, comfy bed upstairs and well-equipped kitchen.

We enjoyed time on the upper deck as well, just lazing after the day's hiking in the deck chairs with a well-earned glass of wine, watching the light play along the red rock cliffs.

1. Wonderful hosts
2. Absolutely incredible setting
3. Spotlessly clean accomodations
4. Reasonably priced

Just a few miles up the canyon from Sedona, these cabins are a world away. Do yourself a favor; visit Sedona and all its attractions, natural and otherwise. At the end of the day, reire to the tranquility of these charming cabins surrounded by immense red rock cliffs and the sound of running water.

Being rather shy and not very good at making polite conversation with strangers, my husband and I normally avoid B&Bs. I am so glad that, this time, we broke our usual rule and stayed at Canyon Wren Cabins for two nights last week. Milena and Mike are wonderful hosts who have been blessed with wonderful personalities and the ability to make their guests feel like old friends who have come for a visit. From the moment we met them, Mike and Milena put us instantly at ease. We also enjoyed our breakfast conversations with a young Canadian couple who were staying at the cabins for a week.

Mike and Milena know the area like the back of their hands and happily share information about scenic drives and hikes in the area. Unlike some inn keepers who are never around when you need something, Mike and/or Milena, while never intrusive, are always around to help out.

Mike bakes a mean brownie. In fact, we suggested that he call them “Mike’s Millionaire Brownies” because he would make millions if he made them available to the public (think Famous Amos). Other baked items we sampled at breakfast were equally yummy.

We stayed in the very clean and tastefully decorated Sycamore cabin. It had everything necessary for a pleasant stay including a small well equipped kitchen area, a cozy living area with wood-burning fireplace, a whirlpool tub in the bathroom, and a lovely loft bedroom with ceiling fan. The cabin also offered a great upstairs deck for enjoying the red rocks of Oak Creek Canyon, as well as a private patio complete with barbeque grill. Almost as soon as we checked in, Mike placed a hummingbird feeder outside our kitchen window and we spent a lot of quality time there enjoying those lovely little creatures.

The numerous bird feeders, which are always well attended, and the pond and water fountains throughout the property make for a very tranquil and relaxing experience. One awakens to the sound of birds chirping and the water fountains, and to the sight of blue skies and red rocks. It just doesn’t get much better.

At Cabin Wren Cabins, life is good.

We were absolutely enchanted with our stay at Canyon Wren Cabins.

Our cabin was charming, cozy and had every amenity we could want. And the housekeeping was positively immaculate.

The kitchenette was fully stocked with cookware and appliances, there was a whirlpool bath, the fireplace was stocked with wood and kindling daily. We lounged on a comfy sofa or club chair or sat out on the patio (which was fully furnished with table, chairs, umbrella, gas grill) surrounded by those amazing red rocks and listening to our own personal waterfall.

Our hosts were delightful, served delicious breakfasts, and were full of helpful information about Sedona and the surrounding area.

We look forward to returning again next year!
