“Great Place”

My wife and I spent 5 nights there. Whitney and Christie, and their staff, could not have been better hosts. Breakfasts were wonderful every day. We love to hike, so every morning after breakfast, Whitney helped us plan the days hikes. He even loaned us his hiking poles, and a cooler so we could have extra water. The Penrose, located in Oak Creek is away from the hustle and noise on "downtown" Sedona, but is close to everything. Some reviews have said the Mariposa room is small, we did not have any problems , we put the small suitcase in the closet on a rack, and the large one in the room. Would recommend this B&B to anyone staying in the area.

Room Tip: The Penrose B&B faces the east, so expect the sun to shine in the room early. Make sure the blin...

The Penrose welcomed us with open arms upon our arrival and the stay exceeded our expectations as the trip progressed, We purchased the romantic package and now know it was a GREAT deal ini comparison to what we would have paid for everything separately. They also celebrated in our engagement throughout the weekend with photographs and surprise rose petals in our room.

The breakfast and snack were AMAZING!!!! We will be going back -- the hospitality, value, and views CANNOT be beat!

Room Tip: Best views in the Coconino room!

Clean, great views, wonderful hospitality, outstanding breakfast, and close to everything. Drive from B&B into Sedona was beautiful. Owners were extremely knowledgeable about hiking trails, restaurants, and art galleries, and took photos of us on our last day (against the red rock backdrop) as a souvenir.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Coconino room, and loved the balcony and views from the room.

Three of us college buddies get together every year at a different spot and we can't help but compare: the Penrose is up there with the best of the best. The ambience, the landscaping, the location and especially the hosts make it a fabulous place to stay. They provide extensive documentation and guests' comments on every aspect of Sedona, especially the restaurants and spas. Whitney's knowledge of the area for hiking and the best car-trips was superb. Breakfasts were lovely - the coffee was endless. One thing to note - if you like to sleep in - you need to arrive for breakfast by 9am. But the food is so good, you won't want to miss it.

Room Tip: All the rooms have fabulous views.

We spent 3 nights in the Penrose enjoying our comfortable, clean, quiet room, loving our fruit & warm entree breakfasts, and treating ourselves at night to the sweet treat left for us. Our hosts gave us recommendations on restaurants and hikes and we enjoyed everything they suggested. The views from this location are amazing. The B&B provided snacks and a DVD collection perfect for our one snowy day in Sedona. As we left our host took our picture with the beautiful red rocks in the background and we left with prints in hand as a souvenir of our wonderful time there.

We recently spent 5 nights at the Penrose - after searching the web for all the places to stay we could not have selected a better place in Sedona. There are just amazing unobstructed views from each room's balcony - you can sit out every evening with a glass of wine and just watch the sun light change on the red rocks. Many other places show views but really are not what you see from your room. When we were there we looked at several of our other finalist choices, none compared! The owners Whitney and Christy are wonderful. Whitney gave us ideas, maps, advice every day and just made our visit that much more fun. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfasts on the large terrace overlooking the rocks are just excellent. Further, it is located off of 179 just south of Sedona and is very quiet - we can tell you that once you see many of the other locations in or near town you will be delighted to be here instead. Great hiking right nearby, only a 7 or 8 minute ride into Sedona which honestly you won't be doing much of anyway, and there are a few really good restaurants right near the B&B.

Room Tip: Any one of the rooms is great, the website shows the views from each pretty well.
