“Sedona Delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014

This is hotel that I would recommend to anyone staying in Sedona. The setting is perfect with views of the Red Rock formations of Sedona. The layout of the hotel is very nice. Our room was roomy, very comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was really nice with a rain shower and hot tub. The hotel offers a very nice shuttle service free of charge. The van will take you to places in Sedona and pick you up. We used it to go to a restaurant and were picked up promptly when we called for our return to the hotel. Got a great nights sleep. The hotel is perfectly located. Take a step out of your room around 9:00 - 10:00 PM and you will be treated to an amazing display of stars.

Room Tip: Room 300 has great views.

We made our reservations late and were given a room on the 1st floor that faced the mountains and I believe had a nice view from the patio. Upon entering the room we received a call from the front desk to see if the room was okay. Since we have elderly and have trouble with stairs and hills, we mentioned this and they promptly offered to move us to a room with not such a great view, but one at which we could park the car right in front of and was a lot easier to handle luggage, etc.

I can't say enough good things about how wonderful the staff at this hotel are. Very friendly and they go out of their way to be helpful with how to get around and suggestions on what to see in the area. They also offer a shuttle (van) to take you to Uptown and pick you up so you don't have to worry about finding a place to park.

They serve an excellent breakfast (coffee, tea, juice, cold cereal, I believe a few varieties of eggs - definitely scrambled, and 3 or 4 kinds of bread for toasting/micro-wave,a fruit cocktail type mixture for a fruit dish, whole banana's, and I think muffins, yogurt and oatmeal) and offer indoor and outdoor seating. They always had free ice water and lemonade in their lobby and also sell bottled water... which was needed before heading out. You can also stop off of the lobby and get a cup of coffee or tea before going to sit on one of their balconies and watch the sun rise or set. Very relaxing atmosphere.

The rooms are standard size with good mattresses and towels, etc. There was a refrigerator that came in handy. My only complaint was that the water pressure in the shower was too low.

There are no elevators. To get to the balconies - which wraps around the building and is for all guests to use, you need to climb up about 20 stairs (possibly 2 sets of 20 stairs), or enter the lobby at ground level and walk straight across and that will bring you out to the balcony which is actually the 2nd floor on the other side of the building.

The property is an easy couple minute drive to Uptown and Talaquepaque (spelling?) and I thought the location was great! We later moved to a property that was actually in the uptown (planned before we left home) and found that property was difficult to exit as the drive was at the pathway of shoppers walking and traffic to wait on.

I would stay here again and prefer this location over others. The staff was so kind, I feel like I left my 2nd family behind.

Room Tip: Asking for a room with a view put us in the situation of walking up a steep hill on the side road o...

Amazing view, very clean, very worth the money. This hotel is perfectly located. We hiked the Grand Canyon, kayaked, shopped downtown Sedona. Used the shuttle for local trips and dinners!! Visited the local wineries all were relatively close to hotel. The staff was extremely friendly, concierge very helpful would defiantly stay here again.

This place is conveniently located in a central location making it a short drive to most places you want to go. The room was modern clean and a little larger then average. The pool and the hot tub were clean and inviting. The breakfast room was on the small side during the busy time and the offerings average at best. The breakfast room could use a lesson from it's sister Best Western at the Grand Canyon. I felt I got a little tricked at check in when I requested a 1st floor room where so we didn't have to climb stairs. You see the rooms on one side of the hotel are at grade by the main building and pool but those are 3rd floor rooms. The woman at the desk said the room we had was on the 2nd floor and had good views so it was worth a few stairs. Well, it seems that most of the rooms have good views but the 3rd floor rooms in my section would have been best especially because there is a large patio outside the rooms with tables and chairs. The rooms on the same side as the office seemed to have the best views especially from the 1st floor, or was it the 3rd floor. A little confusing. I didn't ask for a new room or anything after all, I was not there for the hotel. The staff was overall friendly and helpful. I would probably stay again.

Room Tip: Get a north facing room on the top floor.

Green Features: None that stood out but I am sure they are there. It is Sedona. I felt good and especially safe driving a large SUV. haha.

Thank you for the kind review. We're happy to see you enjoyed your stay. Our 3rd floor rooms are our best rooms and allow easy access to the entire property. I hope you will come back and see us in the future. Be sure to call the hotel directly and inquire about our 3rd floor rooms when booking you next reservation.

Great place to stay, just outside of down town but easy to get to. staff very friendly. Two concerns, not enough places to sit for breakfast. Both mornings had to wait for a place to sit. other concern is no easy way to get your belongings to 2nd floor. Would stay here again.

Thank you so much for being our guests! I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and that our staff was helpful. I am sorry to hear that you had to wait for breakfast. Just like a regular restaurant, we unfortunately have times in the morning that are more in demand than others. When the weather is nice, we encourage our guests to grab a tray and take breakfast out on the terrace to enjoy the view. I truly appreciate your patience during those busy times. Please know that we have a bellman on staff to assist with luggage. Allow us to take that burden off your hands. Thank you for taking the time to review, we look forward to your next visit!

Friendly, helpful, staff, and the usual amenities of a Best Western Plus. Rooms were a little smaller than some others, but the outside shared deck with tables and chairs was a real plus. Once the weather warmed up enough, we bought lunch at a grocery store and ate out there with views of Sugarloaf. Breakfast room was a zoo – too small for the number of people trying to eat there. Nice lobby with a comfortable leather couch for the insomniacs. Location on the edge of West Sedona nearest to Uptown was convenient to everything; we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel.

Room Tip: Top Floor. The second one down has good views, too, but you have to walk down a flight of stairs fr...

Thank you for taking the time to review. I am glad to hear you enjoyed the property for the most part. There are some amazing views to be enjoyed from those terraces. I am sorry you experienced some crowding at the breakfast rooms. Certain hours and especially weekends can be more popular than others. I truly appreciate your patience. Thank you for choosing us to be your hosts, we hope to see you again soon!

We arrived in Sedona way ahead of check in time but stopped by the hotel on the way to Verde Canyon Railroad. The hotel staff was very friendly and suggested we store our luggage behind the lobby desk so that our luggage would not remain in our parked car all afternoon with 90 degree weather. We returned to the hotel around 6 pm with another friendly greeting and check-in accompanied with a Best Western reward gift of snacks and water. Dan even carried our luggage to our room after giving us maps of the area and suggestions for local restaurants.

The front door to our room was very plain with a place to park our car next to the door. I was a little uncertain as we walked into the room that seemed very adequate, nothing spectacular. Then I noticed the door at the back of the room. When I opened the door and stepped out onto a huge third floor level balcony I was greeted with a breathless view of the Sedona red rocks. Not wanting to leave this beautiful peaceful spot, we called a local restaurant and had a pizza delivered right to our hotel door in less than thirty minutes. It was a very relaxing evening on that balcony after days and days of vacation activities.

We took advantage of both sides of the hotel, watching the sunset and sunrise and even some hot air balloons from different balconies. The breakfast was above average and was also enjoyed while sitting out on the balcony.

It was not easy to leave this hotel after such a great experience. Hopefully we can return one day.
