“Pros and Cons”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014

We have just returned from a three night stay at the hotel. THE PROS- The hotel is located on Highway 89 at the far end of the West side.of town.As for the pros: excellent daily breakfast with many choices: it is a full breakfast with hot and cold choices. Since we are residents of Arizona and have visited Sedona many times, we did us use the concierge service but it is an excellent amenity for tourists and those who are not familiar with Sedona and the surrounding areas. The service is available seven days a week.
The Cons-
We booked a room on the second floor. We did this to check out the views. We did know there are no elevators but what we did not know was the eighteen steps to the second floor. For seniors like us it was quite a challenge. Our recommendation: if stairs are quite a challenge for you, book your room on the first floor. The A/C unit was very noisy and we found it difficult to sleep so we opened the window which was a better solution. The back part of the room was rather tight. (bathroom area).

Room Tip: If you are a senior and do not like many stairs, book your room on the first floor.

The real measure of an organization is not the problems they have, but how they handle problems. Our shower had no hot water. Within minutes of reporting it, Frank Borba from maintenance was at our door. He tried, but the issue was not immediately fixable, so we asked for a room change. Staff pleasantly complied and within a half hour we were washing off post-hike red dirt in a hot shower. The location of this property in West Sedona is very convenient to hiking, fine dining and sunset watching, and the buildings and grounds are attractive. It is an older property and some cosmetic issues are appearing (worn carpets, chipped paint in the hot tub) but overall it is very pleasant with mature landscape. Breakfast was excellent - waffles, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, fresh pastries, etc. , with food choices kept full and there is plenty of seating. Bed mattresses feel new and are very comfortable, and every bed has four fluffy pillows for comfortable lounging. The room features in-room coffee, microwave and fridge, and the cleaning staff does a top-notch job as everything was sparkling clean. The negatives - towels don't meet the high level of bed linens. They are a little skimpy and need fabric softener when washed. My other complaint is that the air conditioners are very loud. If guests are trying to watch TV it is a constant raising and lowering of the volume to overcome the noise from the AC. They did not, however, disturb our sleep.

Room Tip: All rooms seem the same. Neither street noise or noise from other guests is a problem.

Our family of four stayed here mid August. Booked directly with the hotel and had very friendly service right from the start. Our room was spacious with two queen beds, a seating area with some furniture and a desk as well as a bathroom with the sink located separately from the shower and toilet. Everythng was clean and tidy.

Fridge and microwave in the room were convenient. When we first arrived my husband felt that the fridge seemed a little warm and the thermostat indicated so. They had a new fridge brought right away! The man that installed it was so nice and professional and he really didn't want to take my tip.

The pool and hot tub areas are small but just perfect.

The breakfast was delightful with a big selection of hot and cold items. The coffee was hot and flavourful. The sausages were so tasty and it is nice to see a clean open kitchen where the friendly young women were preparing the food.

Front desk staff were super nice and they have a concierge on site to help book activities.

The location is in West Sedona about a 10 minute drive from the touristy uptown area. Lots of ammenities like grocery and drug stores, restaurants and gas stations nearby.

Would stay again!

We were very pleased with our visit. The hotel staff is wonderful, and the rooms very clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast is a real bargain, lets you get a good amount of fuel for doing hiking or biking in the beautiful surrounding countryside.

While the hotel is located on the main highway leading into Sedona from the south, you really don't have noise issues. It's nice to be a bit away from the rather crowded downtown scene, and the hotel is close to shopping and several dining options.

Definitely on our list to stay at for our next visit to Sedona.

Not being really that familiar with Sedona, we booked our 3 night stay at the Sedona Real Inn and Suites through Priceline. We reserved a 2 queen suite for our family of 4 (2 kids, 2 adults), and we impressed. The room was very spacious with not only the 2 beds, but also a sitting area with a couch and easy chair. I was surprised to read about the views from the room, if you are depending on your view from your room to make your trip to Sedona complete, you need to get OUTSIDE a bit more. That being said, our view was just fine. The hotel is located right off the highway giving it easy access to all the hiking and sightseeing you could want. Just down the road is OVER THE EDGE bikes which has reasonable rentals and a friendly staff, with great trails just down the road.
Back to the Sedona Real Inn. The rooms were great, the staff was very helpful, and the complimentary breakfast was more than adequate to start your day. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone I know.

We were completing our check-in when Daryl walked out from the office to the front desk and sang a few welcome notes for us! He is learning to sing, but was quite good and he definitely made our day!!

We have been to Sedona many times but had not stayed at Sedona Real on our previous trips. The property is well-located, clean and well-maintained. They have a very good full breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at the Sedona Real, and would go back when we visit Sedona again.

We were heading to Sedona for our first time and had no idea where to stay. The hotel was amazingly clean with lots of room.
Our room had a nice gas fire place which would be awesome in the colder months. The hotel was super friendly and they had a concierge in the lobby to help make reservations or give you tips on the area. The breakfast that was included with the room was a good start and much more then the normal continental breakfast that you get from other.

This hotel is highly recommended, we will be back again!
