We exchanged our timeshare for a two bedroom unit in January. A couple days before check-in we received a call setting us up for a VIP check in allowing us to come in a couple hours early. We received a wine tasting and cheese, crackers and fruit along with an appointment for a timeshare presentation at their resort. We accepted the presentation as they provided us a pink jeep tour for our family of 4 for only $35. We also booked a hot air balloon ride at a discount through them. You do not have to do the tour to take advantage of the concieres assistance and often at a discount. The sales pitch was low pressure but it did take 3 hours from check-in to walk out including breakfast. Now about the room. We got an upstairs unit which was nice but their was no view and it was right next to the highway with a lot of traffic noise right outside the master bedroom. The toilet in the master bath had yellow in the stool and the soap was open and used so you knew the cleaning staff had used the bathroom and didn't flush and used the guests supplies. The second bathroom toilet was completely plugged but maintenance came right away when called and snaked it out. The beds were comfortable but bring your own pillow as all pillows in the unit are overstuffed which is great for watching TV in bed but not for sleeping. The kitchen is well stocked with all your basic needs. We were in one of the original buildings that showed ware in the furnishings and the carpets dirty. We learned at the sales presentation that only the owners got the better, newer units with the views. I was ok with that since Sedona is so beautiful you just have to get outside and enjoy it. Most of the pools and hot tubs were closed while were there for resurfacing so we had to walk quite a ways to enjoy the hottub..it was to cold in my opinion to use the pool but there were some who did. We also went down and played some foos ball and pool and they had a movie night and an entertainer but we didn't go to those as we doing other things. The staff is very friendly and helpful and coffee is always available in the main lobby. They gave great advise on activities, shopping and hiking in the area and resupplied our lotions and laundry soap as needed. Be prepared in that Sedona is a town that shuts down at dark and there isn't much to do but have dinner and settle down for the night. I actually appreciated this as you didn't get so exhausted trying to do everything and not getting enough sleep. And if you are up early enough you can watch the hot air balloons. All in all a great vacation.

Room Tip: You don't really get to choose. You can ask for an upstairs room and one with a view but you wi...

Highly overpriced for what you get, rooms were nice and clean but you get tagged with a resort fee of $12.00. I would expect a decent fitness center for this, instead it was pathetic, the machines were old and the lone treadmill they had was out of order. Even the water fountain wasn't working, it would be nice to have water in the desert!
Also didn't appreciate the hard sell of trying to get me to buy more vacation stays when I arrived. I told the front desk I was tired when I checked in, they still kept me around trying to buy into more shares at other places. Very irritating

Room Tip: grounds could have used more signs, you have to wander around to find the different facilities

Thank you for your review. As we are committed to creating an experience that exceeds guest satisfaction, we are concerned that you may have not been made aware of our resort fee. We would like to note that we make every effort to ensure that our 3rd party rental and exchange partners advise our guests of this at the time of booking. We of course apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. With regards to the fitness center, we would like to note that although we appreciate that this may not be of much relevance to you since you have departed from our resort, our new fitness equipment will be arriving this week and this area should become more inviting very soon for our future guests! As a vacation ownership property, an offer to attend a sales presentation is part of the check in process. While many of our guests are interested to find out more about our products, you are not required to attend this presentation, unless you are staying on a promotional trip. We frown on high pressure tactics, and we will be sure to pass your comments on for coaching and review. If you are willing to give us another chance, we are extremely confident that your next stay with us will be much more enjoyable and even exceed your expectations.

Based on reviews I'd read I was expecting more. The Summit resort area is beautiful and well away from the main congestion area. There are a few things that caught me by surprise however with the most upsetting being the $12.00 per day fee to use the pool, most are in parking lots, and BBQ! Are you kidding? Don't bother paying extra for their internet. It is so intermittent, annoyingly so, you will not use it. The rooms are alright but the floors are not sound proof. You can hear everything from the people above especially the jet tub as well as the other plumbing!

Room Tip: Get a top floor and make sure you are not along highway 89A.

this is the 6th year we have stayed at the Sedona Summit. Every year we look forward to returning and each year it gets better. This year we had a two bedroom unit next to the red rocks and the infinity pool. It was wonderful. Steffanie at the reception desk was so helpful and kind. She deserves a special mention. You walk in and feel at home. The condo has everything to serve very nice meals. The beds are so comfortable, and everyone was so accomodating. We will return next year hopefully.

Room Tip: rooms near the red rocks are so well furnished and excellent views!

I stayed in a studio at Sedona Summit, Building 19, January 7-12 on a timeshare basis. At check-in, I requested a refurbished unit and was told by front desk staff that all the units had been refurbished. This was incorrect. My studio was old & shabby, and it was dirty, with thick dust caked on the bedside tables, lamps & radio and along all the baseboards. There were fleas in the bed. The kitchen sink was plugged up and would not drain.

Housekeeping staff steam cleaned the carpet, which eliminated the fleas. Although I made several requests, the kitchen sink was never unclogged.

During my stay, I picked up a terrible sinus infection/virus. Based on the overall condition of this studio, I would bet that the A/C filter had not been changed in a very long time. I wonder if that may have been the cause of my illness.

The grounds of this property are beautiful and well kept, as are the pools and jacuzzi. From the positive reviews on this website, I assume that my experience was an anomaly. But I would not recommend staying at Sedona Summit unless you are certain that you will have a refurbished unit.

Room Tip: Insist on a refurbished unit. If you can't get one, go elsewhere.

We are extremely sorry that your stay here at Sedona Summit Resort did not meet your expectations or ours. It was very concerning to us to read about the issue your accommodations had in regard to unwanted pests amongst other concerns you described. We want to assure you that we have a very aggressive pest control system in place that eliminates most issues with pests within our rooms. Regretfully, certain variables beyond our control may have caused us to miss those that entered your room. It is great for us to read that this issue was immediately addressed with our housekeeping managers who provided you with the assistance you needed, however, we are sorry this problem occurred in the first place. Our resort will continue to monitor this situation with regular inspections throughout the resort, and want to assure you that this was an isolated incident here. Our guests can be assured that this will not be an issue going forward.
While the major projects in resort improvements have been completed over the last two years including updating many of our rooms we are in the final stages of furniture replacements for a few of the remaining Mesa units. Please note that we do try to accommodate as many refurbishment requests as possible and hope you will return to enjoy our new furnishings in the future. Till then we wish you safe travels!
