This was our second visit to Sedona Summit, and we were equally pleased this time as we were before. We are members of Global Discovery Vacations, and as such, we get an unbelievable rate to stay here.

We arrived at 2 PM, two hours before the official check-in time, but we were able to check in immediately. I thought we would have to wait until 4 PM to be able to access the unit, but we were able to get right in. I had requested a unit with a view but realized that not everyone’s similar request could be filled. We did luck out, however, just as on our first visit, and obtained a first-floor unit with a stunning view.

Our one-bedroom unit was impeccable, and we settled right in. Please see my previous review for details on Sedona Summit. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g31352-d225514-r142415069-Sedona_Summit_Resort-Sedona_Arizona.html#REVIEWS Nothing has changed. It is still a top-notch facility, and we hope to return often.

Some of the few negative comments pertain to pressure to purchase timeshares here. We, once again, were not pressured at all. As soon as we told them we belonged to Global, the pressure abated. There were a couple of half-hearted attempts to get us to attend a presentation, but a polite “no thanks” resulted in no further pressure. But neither did the attentiveness of the staff change. We were still treated as valued guests.

While Sedona Summit is in west Sedona, away from the downtown area, we love it there. It is quiet, peaceful, serene, and a short drive to the action of downtown or VOC. It’s nice to be able to get to those places quickly, but it’s doubly nice at the end of the day to retire to a quiet, lovely home away from home.

We will return. Love our Global membership.

At Sedona Summit Diamond Resorts have provided and absolutely superb place to stay. Located near to the tourist town of Sedona, and consequently within reach of spectacular countryside and many wonderful things to do, the resort is beautifully appointed and well set out. There are a number of swimming pools and the apartments, especially the two and three bedroom ones, are ultra spacious and luxurious. The only negative point is that it is a good way away from restaurants and bars, and there is not even a convenience store on site......consequently for meals etc it is necessary to use the car or pay the high prices of the local taxis.

Room Tip: Ask for a sunset view

We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed our lovely Sedona Summit Resort. Our resort provides guests with spacious accommodations equipped with a lovely panorama of some of the beautiful scenery that the Sedona area has to offer. We regret to hear you were inconvenienced by our lack of on-site restaurants; however, we do offer charming BBQ and picnic areas, along with in-room kitchen options, for those who would like to eat at the resort. This being said, our team is readily available to provide guests with personal recommendations and directions to the surrounding dining options. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back for another relaxing getaway.

Of the 3 Sedona DRI properties, this is the one to recommend by far. Although recently renovated, our room already seemed a little dated. However the staff couldn't be more helpful or accommodating. There was a little too hard sell pressure to attend the breakfast presentation from the concierge. Must be on a bonus! Scenery is outstanding. Best we have experienced in USA and we have been to quite a few places. Do play the golf courses here - and take a camera!

Thank you for sharing your review of your recent stay here at Sedona Summit. We were very pleased and honored to read that you felt our resort was the best one of the three Diamond Resort managed properties in the area. It was a little concerning to read that you felt your accommodations were a little dated. That being said, we were very glad to read that our staff was very helpful and accommodating. As we are primarily a Vacation Ownership resort, our concierge team does solicit most of our guests the opportunity to attend a voluntary sales presentation. We are truly sorry if you felt the contact from our concierge team was a bit on the hard sell side. This will be brought to the attention of our concierge team. Your recommendation is greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you again the next time your travels take you to the Sedona area.

We were happily surprised by the newness of the room which came with a large king-size comfortable bed and sofa sleeper that seem to have a Tempur-pedic mattress. A 46 inch flat screen tv and DVD player too. The kitchenette was large and well equipped along with the refrigerator, stove, and a very large bathroom. Safeway so near by and lots of restaurants deliver. Very relaxing beautfitl location. We are a gmsil of four and very well traveled . We would stay here again and we booked the $149.00 cuz you can't beat it. We would not buy a time share but the deal was too good to pass.

The Sedona Summit Resort is a solid 3.5 stars-- wish TA would allow for 1/2 star ratings.

First of all this is a big resort. They have 417 rooms and the grounds are enormous. The views from most of the resort are amazing which makes for breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. On the weekends their were hot air balloons that danced up and down against the red rock formations while we drank coffee on the patio.

The rooms are large and have great amenities but the furniture was cheap and uncomfortable and the full 1 bedroom unit of the 2 bedroom would not sleep 4 adults as advertised-- the fold out was very small. They have redone the kitchens but the bathrooms still have an older pink solid surface that shows it's age (and pink shell sinks). The kitchen was great, the pots and pans were newer and the stove worked well with no issues. Beds and linens were comfortable and clean. Lots of glasses, plates and glasses but the kitchen knives were super dull and almost unusable.

The pools are cozy and clean (and heated) and the gym is well equipped with free weights, machines and cardio.

As a timeshare resort trying to sell ownership we felt there were a few things that were lacking-- 1) the wifi is the worst I have ever been charged for-- they have a resort fee and claim it is for the wifi (among other amenities). There is no way they should be able to charge for the wifi at this resort. We could not open basic web pages. (2) There is no food options on property. A resort with 417 rooms needs a basic bar/ grille area. Not looking for a steak house but a place to get quick grub after hiking all day would be nice (this is pretty common at most timeshare places). (3) No shuttle service. I may be getting overly picky here but with the number of people on property with no food options there should be a shuttle service (there is a cab company in Sedona).

Overall this is a nice place and we would come back, but it is not a 5 star resort-- which is indicative of the price. Sedona Summit was a good value compared to many other options closer to town and it is very clean and the staff was wonderful.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the red rocks.

At Sedona Summit Resort we value our guests’ feedback and appreciate when they take the time to share their experiences with us. It would seem that while you had some constructive comments, your overall impressions proved mostly positive. We are glad you enjoyed our fully equipped kitchens and well-appointed accommodations. We further appreciate your remarks regarding our amazing views and manicured grounds. We believe in providing our guests with unbeatable amenities and excellent customer service here. The Wi-Fi internet we provide is managed and operated by a 3rd party vendor here. Regretfully, our wireless network does not have the capabilities to support all of our guest’s needs when we are running at 100% occupancy. This will be addressed with our provider respectively. Although we do not have a restaurant on property, Sedona offers a great choice of restaurant and styles of cuisine. Our Concierge is happy to make recommendations that will not disappoint. Thank you for expressing your concerns with us and for taking the time to share. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.

My wife, 9 year old and I stayed here for a week over spring break and love the resort. From the friendly staff at check in and concierge, to the many pools and hot tubs, everything was great. The location is perfect as it is minutes to most of the main hiking trails in the area. It's just a few minutes to the hustle and bustle of Uptown Sedona and just far enough away to be quiet and light on traffic. The grounds are maintained very well and the views are amazing. A good bit of toiletries and kitchen products are provided such as salt and pepper, dishwasher detergent, sponges, dish soap, garage bags, toilet paper and bath products. The suites are well built and we never heard our neighbors below or next door. The cable televisions are all digital antenea and the internet is wifi only. The 2 reasons I did not give this resort 5 stars is 1) The wifi is very slow, especially during peaks hours. They did tell me that they are working to get more bandwidth which would allow streaming. 2) The rooms are getting a bit dated, such as carpet and decor. That being said, we did love out stay and would stay here again when in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the Red Rocks.

This is the second time I stayed at this resort. The first time in a studio, second time 2 bedroom unit. I really enjoyed both, for two people the studio is great. The 2 bedroom was beautiful, kitchen was very nice, lots of room and well set up. They had different events each day and recognized they are well done. The staff were excellent and very helpful. The resort does have one adult only pool so ask for that if you want the piece and quiet. Before I start, I will say I am more critical of hotels when I pay more than average. I pay more therefore I expect more. First of all I was upset that we paid more for a "Sunset Suite". Sedona is beautiful and the views are amazing so we paid extra to have, (what we thought), a nice view from our room. We had a bottom suite, with no view at all. When I asked about it, they said it was just the way the rooms were named. I found that very deceiving. My studio suite had beautiful views from the balcony, but the sunset suite had no view. They could not move us because they were booked solid. It turned out to be fine as at least we did not have a room facing the parking lot. The second complaint is the pillows, they were awful and all four of us did not sleep well because of that. For such a beautiful resort, the least they could do is get some proper pillows and ensure at least your guests get a good night sleep.

Room Tip: Make sure, if you want a view, ask for a view when you book.
