“Well appointed well maintained but ridiculous pet policy”
Reviewed 30 November 2013 via mobile

Ideally located for touring red rocks. Very well maintained property with clean comfortable and private units. Small and perfect for couples. Great amenities. Only negative, and it's important, is the " no pets" policy for exchange members, since there are so many dogs on property. According to the front desk the RV renters can walk dogs but we saw pets going in and out of units at all times and obviously some pets live with Sedona Pines owners. We had reserved and paid for a second unit for our son who lives in Phoenix but he could not find pet care for his well trained and quiet dog during the holiday and had to cancel. So we were very disappointed to find so many pets on property including barking and pet waste. We won't be back unless Sedona Pines makes a more uniform pet policy. Other resorts offer small pet deposits
( with an appropriately large cleaning fee if pets cause damage).

Stayed here with friends who have a time share. This is a rather unique concept in a vacation housing property. Just a short drive out of Sedona going west, it is easy to find and access. These individual units are like mini- mobile homes in size but very well appointed. We found them quite comfortable. The walls are not too thick so if there are kids in the attached unit or noisy adults you will hear them. We were a group of 4 so each couple had a separate unit adjoined by a small deck area between. Privacy was good and one of the units had a kitchen we we could prepare meals and eat either there or on the deck. This was different but nice. I must say too that one of the front desk staff, I wish I could recall her name, was hands down the finest "people person" I have ever met. She is a natural in the hotel industry. She made our stay wonderful.

Room Tip: Units on the end are a bit more private.

This was our second stay at the Sedona Pines and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. It is very quiet and the unit was small but comfortable enough for two people and it was very well equipped. Instead of a traditional oven due to the small space they had a microwave/convection oven. I cooked ribs and steak by convection and they turned out great – there was a barbecue outside but if you wanted to use it for dinner you had to battle the mosquitoes!!

We loved the adult spa – spent a lot of quiet time there with a glass of wine (plastic glass of course).

It would be nice to have a washer/dryer in your unit but the ones supplied free of charge were great. It would also be great to have a safe in your unit.

The grounds, fountains etc. are immaculate and any concerns we had were dealt with immediately.

When we got home, we had a call from the resort saying that we had left a couple of items behind and that if we wanted to give our credit card # they would mail them to us – very great service.

We do not appreciate the fact that resorts now try different approaches to get you to go for a timeshare presentation – if you are there on a timeshare, you are not likely to buy another one.

We discovered a great grocery store on this visit – Basha’s – also shopped at the one in Phoenix. They had great specials – when everything is so expensive especially for meat this was a great fine – preferred it to Fry’s. Also, you do not have to get a special shopper card – you just have to say that you are traveling. Of course we stopped at a Costco on our way to Sedona.

We would definitely return to the Sedona Pines.

A late booking through RCI found us at Sedona Pines. An interesting concept to convert a trailer park into a complex with one and two bedroom manufactured units. The units are just perfect, clean, extremely well stocked and very functional. The grounds are immaculate and with numerous pools and hot tubs there are many ways to relax. A Fitness centre, immaculate laundry and amenities for children round out this quiet resort just 5 minutes from Sedona.

Room Tip: The one bedroom are great for two adults and up to one child. More than that get a two bedroom. The...

We found Sedona Pines through RCI. We liked the reviews on Trip Advisor and the fact that Pines was not in the heart of uptown Sedona. Its quiet and tranquil atmosphere is exactly what we city kids needed. You will need rental car, but you're located just a few minutes from grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, etc. The fresh air and the views from certain areas of the resort are amazing. Early one morning, we saw hot air balloons traveling overhead. (By the way, you must take a balloon ride while you're here. Breathtaking!) The individual cottages had just enough room for the two of us and gave us the privacy that a hotel probably could not. Request (as we did) to stay in one of the newly renovated cottages. Wood floors, updated appliances, full kitchen and intimate dining area in the living room made our stay enjoyable. The only reason Sedona Pines gets four instead of five stars is due to a "hiccup" that occurred when we arrived at our first cottage. There was an issue with the shower that should have been detected beforehand. However, the friendly staff found us another cottage (same amenities), and all was well. Traveler tip: Before you unpack at any hotel/resort (no matter how nice), check that all of the appliances and other amenities are functional. Would we stay there again? You bet. The folks there are really nice and try their best to make your visit a comfortable one. As you've probably read in other reviews, the grounds are very well maintained. By the way, we loved the on site Bistro! I'll write a separate review for them.

Being a owner at Sedona Pines was excellent investment, Living in Phoenix it is a really quick getaway were it is nice and quite, close to everything, EVERYONE is friendly and accommodating. No, there is nothing Fancy about this resort, but it is quiet, well maintained, low pressure, the staff gets 5 stars.and I do not hand out this designation lightly.

Our experience with Sedona Pines was excellent, and I do not hand out this designation lightly. We knew in advance from reading the reviews on the accommodations, what we were likely to find, and found the reviews accurate regarding size of units etc. It was just the two of us so there was plenty of room for a one week stay. That said, it was the staff, and the way the grounds and units were meticulously kept which impressed us. You can keep fancy if it comes with mediocre service in my humble opinion. Kudos to the grounds crews who worked daily to make sure the visual and functional aspects were flawless. EVERYONE was friendly and accommodating. The new owners of the Bistro are caring, engaging, work hard to produce a good product. No, there is nothing Fancy about this resort, but it is quiet, well maintained, low pressure, the staff gets 5 stars.
