This was my second year staying at the Amara and it continued to not disappoint. The view from outdoors was amazing. There is a pool and hot tub, along with outdoor games such as corn hole. I loved sitting at the fire pits with a free glass of wine that they offer from 5-6. They also have coffee available in the morning. The staff are super friendly and very accommodating. There is a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up within a certain radius and we made sure to utilize that both nights. There was an issue with the room we were supposed to stay in when we first checked in, but they quickly figured out a solution that more than satisfied our entire party. They really are great for their hospitality. The hotel is located right in the center of town and is walking distance to most shops. There is also a spa located right across from the hotel where free yoga is offered in the mornings. I think the only negative would be that you have to pay for WiFi. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sedona and definitely plan to continue making future reservations here

Thank you so much for returning to Amara! Despite the hiccup with the initial accommodations, I am really happy to hear that our team was able to get you into a rooms that suited your needs. Regarding the wifi, I feel your pain... BUT, there is a simple work-around. WiFi is complimentary for all Kimpton Karma (soon to be IHG Rewards) members. Easy to enroll - and you can even opt out of future emails. From the on you just use you email address to login in and you're good-to-go! Thank you again!

This resort has location and the Kimpton name going for it. Pluses were: a beautiful central location, a peaceful outdoor area and scenery. The staff is friendly, young and polite. They provide maps & information on local hikes if you ask. The room was comfortable, but for the price point some details need to be attended to: shower curtains with many noticeable pulled threads need to be replaced- look worn-as well a rubber shower mat with the rubber edges fraying, and bath floor tiles look dirty. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. I suggest if you would like a spa treatment book prior to arrival. I was there 5 days and was never able to book an appointment.

Thank you for the review, Gorrie! I am certainly glad to hear good things about our service team... They really do a great job. Regarding the spa, I am very sorry to hear that we were unable to schedule you in over at the spa... The holidays do seem to fill up those time slots rather quickly. Hopefully we can get you back to see us in the future for a little pampering?

The Amara hotel was just perfect for a first time visit to Sedona. Centrally located within walking distance to all amenities, We parked the car and walked to book tours, have dinner or shop.
The room was very spacious, with comfortable beds and a great view of the "charlie brown" mountain!
Staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and full of good advice of the sights and hikes of Sedona.
Happy hour every night, sitting in the comfortable courtyard, with the fire going!
What better place to stay!!

Room Tip: @nd floor with a view of the courtyard and mountains

The Amara has great views, staff and food! The courtyard looks out on some of the most beautiful red rocks Sedona has to offer and one feels as if they are so close to the rocks and the river below. The staff will make sure you have everything you need at the property and for your time in town (whether it be hiking, driving or walking). The Amara is located in the center of the town so it is perfect to explore the little shops.

Eating both breakfast and dinner at SaltRock Kitchen is a must! It is one of the best restaurants in town.
