Quiet, clean, affordable, great location, nice staff....what more can you ask for an overnight stop? I am on a shoestring budget and this place is very much to my liking! I've stayed at the Hilton with family members for an extended period of time. Nice, but a waste of money if you want to see Sedona upclose! I've stayed here on three seperate occasions and plan on doing it again in 2009....twice if I can afford another trip to Sedona!

The location is great. Just next to it there is a Domino pizza, and then big outlet. A few blocks uptown there is a place called Old Market, where you can find fresh fruits and other healthy food. Most of the sightseeing points in the city are within few minutes drive. The hotel room was convinient, not very big, but not small either. The staff was really friendly and helpful. And the price is very reasonable.

You get a basic bare bones motel room in a great location. My room opened out on a desert lot next door. The staff was very friendly. Sedona is gorgeous, but very upscale. I was glad to find this place. But beware, if you are the type who likes a chocolate placed on you pillow every night, this place is not for you.

I have used Trip Advisor for three years to choose the best hotels in a given location for my budget and needs. This is the first time ever I have made a bad choice based on Trip Advisor reviews.

The room was very small and the bed my husband and I chose (the room had 2 doubles or queens, not sure which) was very uncomfortable. The walls must be really thin, because I could hear the gentleman in the next room snoring all night. There was not a hair dryer in the room, which I wish I'd known ahead of time, although it did have a mini-fridge. The wireless Internet didn't work, and the room was not especially clean. Even the woman at check in was pretty unfriendly, which really surprised me because the other reviews talk about how nice the family that runs the place is.

I hate to complain about a locally-owned business, but overall we were very unhappy with our stay and feel like it would be worth some extra money for a slight step up in Sedona.

Great place to stay. One of the few family owned businesses left. Great value. Not exactly luxurious, but is in a great location and the cheapest available place in Sedona. Clean and affordable.

My boyfriend and I were in Sedona for the weekend. After doing some extensive research for a place to stay, I came across the Sugar Loaf Lodge through TripAdvisor.

We booked a room at the Sugar Loaf for a one night stay with a king bed. The room was very clean and the bed was very COMFORTABLE. They had a tv, microwave, refrigerator, wi-fi, an iron and ironboard etc.....

I hightly recommend staying here if you are on a budget and need a place to stay. The location, service and amenities are excellent.

This is a great place to stay just five minutes by car outside the main uptown Sedona town centre. It has everything and more yet is usually half the price of most places in the area.! First it really is quiet. Even the rooms are soundproofed to avoid next door chat.! There is a bath and shower. There is a iron and iron board. There is a breakfast free. The large beds are the most comfortable ever. It has a large swimming pool and Jacuzzi outside. It is next door to large shopping markets, ( Safeway etc)laundromat, restaurants, library, etc. Gerry the Manager in reception knows more than the visitor Center and is always friendly and helpful. Best of all in is in a location away from the tourist gift shop trappings enough to sample first hand the beauty and splendour of Sedona, among the local people. I stayed here five nights and would loved to have stayed longer.

  • Liked — Quiet, value for money, friendly Manager, comfortable beds, bath, location.
  • Disliked — Nothing.
