“Not friendly environment”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

The management was very defensive. Everything we said was confrontational for them. We get in late at around 10pm. Nobody to assist. We get in the room was a smell, like mildew and 1 shampoo. The next day I mention the smell. The manager response was: "impossible, I cannot see how, because the room is renovated". When I mention the shampoo, as book as a couple should be two. Response: "we only provide one and we both use lots if shampoo". After 4 pm was a telephone number for emergency. We call because in our room the fire alarm was beeping. No answer, we had to removed the fire alarm our selfs.
It just no customer friendly environment. Felt like we was not welcome.

We loved our stay at Alma De Sedona. We spent a week in early May vacationing in Sedona, and I'm so happy we chose Alma De Sedona as our accomodations. The Inn is wonderfully located in the West part of town--close to everything, and away from the most touristy area uptown. The property is beautiful, and our room(American Generations) was lovely and cozy with some beautiful red rock views. The room also had a huge jacuzzi tub which was great for soaks after spending the day hiking the red rocks. Lori, the innkeeper, is wonderful. Very sweet and incredibly helpful--she booked multiple activities and reservations for us, and was very patient in answering all my questions and making suggestions. The rest of the staff was great too. And the breakfasts were delicious! I will definitely stay here again when we come back to visit Sedona!

This was our first trip to Sedona and Alma de Sedona made it a great stay. Lori was very helpful in places to hike, eat....The breakfasts were awesome. The room was clean with a beautiful view in Journey's End room. We stayed 3 nights and would highly recommend Alma de Sedona. It is located in a quiet area --but close enough to restaurants and shopping.

I've never stayed at a B&B before, but after staying at Alma de Sedona, I'm not sure I want to stay at a regular hotel again. I booked the Settler's Pine room for a 3-day mother-daughter vacation and it was the best decision; our stay in Sedona was wonderful. The room was clean, robes were provided, there was a refrigerator, TV, and a patio. Our hostess, Lori, was wonderful and full of information (thanks for the tip on the blood orange margarita at Elote!). This B&B is located in a residential area, so it was very quiet and safe, but still close to hiking areas, restaurants and other points of interest. But let's talk about the breakfasts! Breakfasts all three days were wonderful--seriously better than most restaurants. Berry French Toast bake with cranberry sausage one day, a chorizo breakfast burrito with a muffin another day, and berry pancakes with perfectly cooked bacon another day...all of it was delicious. I can't wait to come back to Alma de Sedona and bring my husband.

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful, quiet inn, not far from the hustle and bustle of the main road into town. On our arrival, we were greeted by Jim, who took the extra time to give us an overview of the area with all the "must-see" activities. We appreciated the fact that his list was broken down into one, two, and three or more days in Sedona. It helped us choose our adventures. My husband and I booked the Del Sol Room which is located on the ground level next to the pool. Very comfortable king bed with a gas fireplace next to it; a large bathroom and big shower and nice veranda. Breakfasts were quite hearty ranging from berry filled french toast to quiche or peach filled pancakes. Plenty of fruit juices and nut snacks are also available for your enjoyment at any time.

The inn has a beautiful rock labyrinth and outdoor courtyard where you can sit and read or just meditate. Unfortunately, we were so busy hiking we barely had a chance to really appreciate the grounds. Maybe next time.

The hosts are knowledgeable about the area and can give you good advice on tour operators, restaurants, shopping and spas.

We enjoyed dinner at Elote, a Mexican restaurant. This is a very popular place that doesn't take reservations and people start lining up at 4pm to get a seat at the 5pm opening time. Worth the wait. We arrived at 4:45 and got seated not long after it opened. Excellent food and service.

My husband and I chose this place because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor and it definitely lives up to the hype. The location is perfect as it is close to all the restaurants and attractions but not so close that you are bombarded with people and traffic. We stayed in the Settlers Pine room which was nice because it was pretty secluded. Although we didn't care for the construction that was going on right outside the balcony, it was very private and peaceful. We enjoyed the fireplace and the Jacuzzi and the bath salts that Lori makes were AMAZING! The water pressure in the shower was a little too intense for me but my husband loved it. The food was delicious! The first morning we were there we had quiche and the second morning we had orange ricotta pancakes which was quite possibly the best thing I've ever eaten. Jim and Lori were so helpful in in giving us information on where to go and what to do. My husband and I had never been to Sedona so we didn't know what to do first. We were given a detailed map of everything we should see and do and how to get there. We did everything on the list except Cathedral Rock (next time). We will definitely be back and we will definitely be staying at the Alma de Sedona!

We have stayed at this wonderful B&B twice and were headed back to Sedona a third time. We decided to maybe save a few dollars this time so we booked our stay at a local resort. When we got there the room was not the room we saw online, very cramped, no in room spa tub, and it smelled really bad. We knew we couldn't stay there. So I called Lori at 5:30 pm and begged her to let us stay at the Alma de Sedona. She is now my hero because she said, "Of course. Which room would you like?" We stayed in the Far Pavilions which was the first room we stayed in a year and a half ago and it was wonderful. We can lie in bed and see Thunder Mountain and the stars through our window. Breathtaking! The breakfasts Norma served us were so delicious. We love hot chocolate and they had a pot just for us each morning. Now that's service! Each day when we returned to our room after whatever Sedona adventure we had taken, the room was spotless. And we love sitting on the balcony and listening to the silence that is all around us. Jim was there the last morning of our stay and what a delightful man. He's a keeper! What more can we say? We will never even consider staying anywhere again. There is definitely nothing better!

Room Tip: Every room is beautiful. The ones on the second floor have a balcony with great views of the mountai...
