For the price and location, go 20 minutes to Cottonwood and stay in a better hotel. Rooms are old and out dated. Air-condition units are super old and really loud. The staff is polite and helpful. Even the breakfast was below average. Internet signal is extremely weak and unreliable. The signal at the small motel across the street had a better signal as it was coming through stronger in my room. If anyone gives this hotel more than a 2 out of 5 rating, they either work here or don't stay in hotels much.

The Hampton Inn in Sedona is a great place to stay! My family and I stayed for one night just to get away for a night. It was so nice to be there! Lots of restaurants around, the spa and pool is great! The breakfast in the morning was very impressive! The only little problem we had was that they ran out of pool towels at the pool that night and in the morning, but we asked for some and they were more then happy to give us some! We are already planning our next trip back!

This is definitely NOT a "Category 6" hotel, as advertised by Hilton and Hampton Inns. When we arrived, there was no cart to move our items into the room; it was still missing the following morning - although I found one by the elevator upstairs. There is ONLY wireless internet - so if you need a wire, you're out of luck; lesser rated establishments provide a plug-in hub.
The real kicker was the guy smoking his stogie immediately outside our window by the pool enjoying the refreshing evening air in this "non-smoking" establishment; the smoke came right in our window - as it would for about 50% of the patrons. There are other nice outside decks with tables and chairs for smokers also - so this is a real gem for those who want a non-smoking establishment that caters to smokers. The management says that if one talks to the smokers, they usually are cooperative and do not wish to offend - so I conclude the management has received several complaints, and have still failed to provide a smoking area that will not "offend" the non-smokers.
Therefore, SMOKERS are more than welcome at this establishment!
One other item: it is an older facility, so don't expect too much....
This Hotel could be a wonderful place for ALL to stay - with the right managment.

First, we do have 2 perfectly working luggage carts-for a hotel of our size that is plenty. I am surprised that one was not available for your use upon check-in. When our luggage carts are "missing," it means that one of our other valued guests is using it as intended. I noticed the comment about it was missing the next morning, however, you stayed with us one night, found one of our luggage carts and were able to use this upon check-out.

We do only provide secured wireless internet as listed on our website.

Second, regarding our smoker outside of your room: our pool is open from 7am to 10pm for all guests to use. We do feel that your comment has provided us with a valuable outlook on our 100% smoke free environment indoors, and we our now looking forward to converting our pool area to non-smoking as well. The issue was also handled immediately after you reported the problem. Our front desk agent on duty reported to me that this issue was at 9:57pm (just before our pool closes) we immediately went out and asked the smoker if he would mind moving to the front of the hotel or in the back where we do have designated smoking areas and this guest had no problem moving for us.

We have recently updated all of our bathrooms with new tile, vanities and towel racks. We will be completing the approved Hampton Inn “perfect mix” lobby as well.

I visited Sedona in April in 2010. Didn't make reservations for hotel and tried Radison Inn (rated high by Tripadvisor) for one night; wasn't satisfied and checked out early. Saw Hampton Inn by accident, went in and found the rate much lower and location much better than Radison. So stayed there for 2 nights, more than satisfied. Staff so friendly and helpful; bed so comfortable; room was clean, roomy, easily sleep 4 and nicely decorated; bathroom very clean, breakfast nice and complementary! Everything was good. Will definitly go back for next time! Although not right in town, but that price is unbeatable.

One thing to add: if make reservation through the hotel's central reservation, the price is $159. But if you just drop in, (usually not fully booked) the rate is only $119-129.

I was very pleased staying at this Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was great and it looked as if the beds were new. The only thing that was so-so was the breakfast. Other than that I would stay here again. I would like to say that out of all the staff that I dealt with Chris Murphy was the "Man" This guy is awesome. Very friendly. knowledgeable, and knows where the best restaurants are. You can tell he loves his job and is people orientated. Try the cookies in the lobby at night. They are to die for.

Great hotel in a great location. Stayed 6 nights. Large room with a King size bed and couch. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room was clean. Hotel location was great because it was within 3 miles of uptown Sedona, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. For hikers, trailheads are closeby. Plenty of restaurants within walking and driving distance. Breakfast was great with hot and cold food. Hot coffee and tea available 24 hours and sometimes you can get a freshed baked cookie. Pool and hot tub area was nice. I thought it was a little pricey, but Sedona isn't cheap so it was probably reasonable.
