Hubby and I have been visiting Sedona for 8 years, we've stayed at a variety of places including The Summit. I was a bit nervous about seeing that it was located on one the infamous "round abouts" in Sedona. (Please out of state and country travelers, read about how to maneuver through a round about before trying and deciding to stop in the middle!) It was remarkably quiet! The hotel rooms are not luxury rooms but exceptionally clean and well maintained, even if a tad dated. Air conditioning was perfect on high and not terribly noisy. It was in the mid 90's and it had no problem keeping up with the demand. The very best part of our stay was opening the curtains to the little balcony and seeing the incredible view! We were fortunate in that our room overlooked the Oak Creek right where it was babbling down the rocks and actively moving. What a nice sound to fall asleep to on a cool evening. Sadly, due to the recent fire, Sedona was pretty empty, but seriously, it was lovely to not be funneling through the crowds. THAT being said, please go to Sedona, the air was clear, the fire was out and the people are eager to serve you and willing to talk about all that Sedona has to offer. The walk to town was short and easy. A walk to the left took you right to Tlaquepaque, no need to fight for a parking space in their very crowded lots. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We sat at the pool with a nice hard bread and cheeses with drinks and actually turned our backs to the pool to enjoy the view. The pool water was very cold, even for this former Maineah. Hubby only made it into his waist! Again, skip the pricey hotels and enjoy this amazing view. Nice little hideaway, would absolutely stay there again! The perfect view of Snoopy Rock!

2 nights stay here before we needed to change plans.
As previous reviews location is good although a decent walk into west Sedona to the bars and restaurants. Pool is tucked away down the stairs on patio deck again with a tremendous view.
Rooms clean and tidy with all mod cons..and balconies on rear aspect rooms..you can also access the creek behind the hotel.we needed to amend our booking at short notice and the reservation attended to our request with minimal fuss.only negative notes are the resort was very.quite and we where unable to access the fitness room.
Breakfast is included but it's only a cup of coffee and a bagel.

Drive into Resort? Was a big disappointment, they need to take the word Resort out of the name. Should be Cedars Motel? Very nice staff, rooms are dated with shag carpet, non-smoking room did smell like smoke when first walked in, looked at another room, was too small for 4 people, so we opened the sliding door and aired out the room and it was better. Clean room, door handle dirty, no bugs seen, but owners should replace the carpet and fix little items like calking in bath/shower and this would be a great room.
VIEWS ARE AWESOME! AND LOCATION WAS GOOD! (Small hill to walk up to shops and resturants) and that was the only reason we stayed. On a Friday night motel was not that crowed, staff should not of given us a room on the lower floor with some heavy footed guys above us that came in very late. Even the loud A/C could not drown them out. Did not eat breakfast was told by tour guide that 101 omelets was good place to eat, it was horrible. Cowboys restaurant was excellent as usual. (bacon wrapped buffalo meatloaf! yummy!)

Room Tip: I thought the price was a little high for a motel.

I've been seriously pondering over doing this review for 2 weeks now; I want to be fair. What prompted me was the unexpected, 1-nite visit to a very small town hotel yesterday, which reminded me of what a hotel room SHOULD be (separate review forthcoming). OK, now for my review of the Cedars Resort in Sedona:
1) Don't let the name mislead you: this is not in any way resorted-related. It is an older, standard, BASIC hotel room. Period.
2) The location is fantastic! 5 minute walk to: Uptown shopping/restaurants, Pinon Pointe, and Tlaquepague. Excellent red-rock scenic views. Easy to find, centralized location.
3) Facilities: Basic, somewhat worn. Carpet in room was a dark green, almost shag-like & stained; yucky. Room rather small, had a fridge, but no microwave (?). When asked about breakfast, staff said there was "coffee & bagels", but not available until after 7:30am; we didn't even bother. Tried the in-room coffee service ONCE. Really awful & unit was dirty. AC very loud, other units as well when trying to sit on the porch. They have a REAL problem with gnats coming from the outside; they fit thru the screens on the porch, so no barrier. We accidentally left the sliding door open for less than 30 seconds. When I returned to the room, there were 13 gnats clustered around the bathroom vanity lights. There's a sign at the front desk indicating they have an issue with this. Room has old, ingrained smoke smell they try to mask, but the "febreeze-style" deodorizer is limited. Not terrible, but it really does not smell clean.
4) Operations: Hotel computer system crashed and they lost all info. When we tried to check in, our reservation had been deleted, along with many others. Per the staff, good thing we tried to check in early or we would have not gotten the room (we were unexpected). The staff seem disorganized, unfocused, but pleasant. One afternoon after the maid had already cleaned the room, we had returned to take break from sight-seeing, watching TV, and the handyman accidentally opened the door with his key! Shocker for all of us, I guess; glad we were only watching TV! They've been doing renovations: toilets were stacked up in the parking lot. After our other strange encounters (and lowered expectations) we didn't even bother to complain about it-- what was the point? We won't be back.
5) Price: Well, it IS a tourist town, so nothing is inexpensive. I felt for what we received the rate should have been lower, but the location WAS great, and that was the whole point of our stay; we wanted to tour, not sit at the hotel. Compared to other locations, it was cheaper. However, despite this, we won't go back; the negatives just outweigh the positives. Sorry!

Room Tip: Title sums it up-- Location is #1! Remainder: Meh.

The Cedars Resort is an old established Sedona motor hotel that has been nicely renovated. It is located at the "Y", which means it is at the round about at hwy 179 and hwy 89A, almost in the center of town. It is an easy walk to the tourist shops and restaurants of Sedona. Our room was very clean and had a lanai overlooking Oak Creek. The hotel supplies bath robes and it was very relaxing to sit on the lanai in the morning sipping prosecco in our bath robes. Very romantic. The room was large, and the bathroom was modern. Nothing is cheap in Sedona, including this room. However, this place is a great value relatively speaking. We'll be back here again before long.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor on three creek side.

We chose this for its location, value and scenic views. We were not disappointed.
Average room, very small bathroom on the top floor. There are a handful of rooms that are on the front right side of the building that overlook the creek.
Hotel was within reasonable walking distance to the uptown shops including the Tapalgue Plaza.
Their free complimentary breakfast does start until 0730. Was unable to review since we checked out prior to that time.

We stayed in room 121, which is on the bottom floor. The views are beautiful, overlooking the trees at the creek onto the rock formations and canyons across the vista. The rooms are simple, have a mini fridge, television, complimentary coffee, and complimentary soaps and shampoos. It was a very pleasant stay for us. We received a good rate during the week when it's not busy in Sedona. It's just down south a few minutes from uptown Sedona with all the shops along the main strip. We slept with the sliding glass door open to hear the soothing rush of the creek all night.

The breakfast is a bit meager but if you just need something to hold you over, the prepackaged bagels, bottle of apple or orange juice, and coffee is just enough.
