Owner description: Welcome to the Birthplace of HISTORIC Route 66! In 1987, Angel Delgadillo, the kindly crusader, led the charge to save the Main Street of America; Route 66. The Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona was formed to protect, promote, and preserve the Mother Road. The grassroots association and Angel's charisma have captured the world's attention. Today there are Route 66 associations worldwide.Angel and Vilma opened the very first Route 66 gift shop in 1987. The once pool hall and barber shop is now a unique blend of gift shop, barber shop, visitor center, and museum. The museum is dedicated to all the people who have made the pilgrimage to Historic Route 66 from all over the United States and the world. Your road trip is not complete until you experience living history at this Route 66 landmark!

Best place in the US Southwest and it can't get any more authentical when it comes about Route 66. Meet the guardian angel of Route 66 - Angel Delgadillo. Just love this place and keep on coming back - eventhough all the way from Europe.

Visiting Seligman AZ and Angel & Vilma's gift shop was the best experience of our AZ/CA trip. Experienced Sedona, The Grand Canyon, Flagstaff and Disneyland on this trip but our stop off to Seligman is most memorable. As if experiencing Seligman wasn't enough, the icing on the cake was we actually got to meet and talk with Angel himself. He chatted with us about Route 66 and how they waited 10 long years for people to start trickling back into the town. He brought us into his barber shop and showed us around and told us stories. This was truly the most memorable experience of our entire trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful visit in December. Despite the crowds, Angel was so gracious, he took time to speak with us, made us a free coffee and we got some great photos. Great to see the man that has worked so hard to preserve this important piece of US history finally getting some reward for his effort. Still open in the off season unlike so many of the cash-in operators riding on his back. The number one MUST DO for anyone driving historic Route 66.

We have stopped here several times on separate Route 66 trips. It's a really nice shop and always nice to talk to Angel and family.

We never felt more welcome on 66 than with Angel Delgadillo and his family, we have been here a couple a times and everytime it is a great time for us, we are very blessed to have met him, he is heart warming, welcomes you not as a stranger but gives you the felling of coming home !
This hero deserves your attention, stop bye and take time to talk to Angel, he sure will take time to talk to you, and if you are lucky, even will give you a shave.
We hope to get another chance to meet these wonderfull folks, hopefully you will too :)
