“Really not worth going to”
Reviewed 1 June 2013

This was our second visit to the restaurant since the new ownership. Our first visit was a disaster. They took our drink and appetizer order but no one ever came back to take our dinner order. After 30 minutes, we asked for the check and left.

Decided to give it a second chance and it was not much better. This place is really dead. It was a Thursday night at 6:00 PM. When we entered a young woman was sitting in the entry, at work on her ipad. She told us to go on in. We were the only ones in the place and just one other couple came in later. No one in the bar. Certainly not the restaurant it used to be. Things were somewhat shabby--salt and pepper shakers were sticky, exposed cords by the overhead lights, etc. The food was fair and the service was good however, there is just not a pleasant feeling. Although we live close by, don't think we will return.

“Excellent Italian”
Reviewed 30 May 2013

We went to a lunch meeting at Delios on 05/29/13 and the food and service was absolutely wonderful! I had the Eggplant Parmesan and my boss ordered the sausage lasagna. Both meals were out of this world. The sausage, which is homemade, was packed with flavor, but not too overwhelming. I saw a review somewhere that said the marinara was bland and that couldn't have been further from the truth. The marinara on my dish was zesty and you could tell the tomatoes were fresh. The eggplant breading was crispy and the mozzarella was perfectly melted. The bread was hot and fresh out of the oven and couldn't have been tastier. We decided to try the limoncello cake, but since the desserts are made from scratch (I asked the server) they were out and would not have anymore until dinner. So we decided to try the limoncello ice cream. OMG! It was incredible! Also, the service was wonderful. We were greeted with a smile and our server was attentive to our needs the entire time. In a nutshell, had a great experience at Delios!

“Expected so much better”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

The food was good, but we really went for some items that were on the menu online. The menu had dropped many things and there was no kids menu. I had read they had an amazing bar, but there was no drinks menu and the server seemed quite confused on the request of hearing any unique drinks they made. The lasagna was really filling and something you would not want to take home as leftovers since it was very overcooked. The half seemed too small when described to us, but in the end, only half was eaten as it is very greasy and filling. The sauce for the alfredo was very good. We requested bread that was mentioned as coming with the meal, though our table was given only a couple of slices of what seemed to be stale and cool bread. While our food came out in a timely manner, tables around us had experienced problems, as the manager came out to give apologies and brought a few bowls of bread. We heard her apologize to three separate tables, offering them bread and free drinks. While the inside was clean (other than a few little flies) and had a nice vibe to it, it seemed more like a place to carry out since the menu is limited and the service is not too great. The website says that people are giving unfair reviews and that they are under new management, but it really seems to be the same experience just with a more limited menu and less of a family atmosphere as mentioned though not fine dining by any means. It is worth checking out, for the area, but on the grand scale, we had hoped for so much better.

“Delio's Italien Restaurant”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

Jerry Colonna (Delio) was one of the best Italian cooks and restaurant owners ever. We were sorry to see him retire, but the new folks are just as good and just as friendly.

“Are you kidding me?”
Reviewed 26 April 2013

Pathetic covers it... In it's heyday with the previous owners, this was a must-do eatery. Went there recently for lunch with my mother, right at lunchtime. There was only one other couple in there. No one greeted us, so we sat ourselves. Not a big deal, I gathered they weren't busy so didn't expect someone at the door. We instead should have heeded this sign. The waitress (a young blonde) could not be bothered, did not know the menu, and forgot everything we asked for not once, but twice. The marinara had no, zero, zip flavor. It may have been really OLD. They'd have been better off with a jar of Ragu. We had to beg for bread. Good thing we did, as the portion sizes were too small to call a meal (not that we wanted more, trust me...). The prices are high, the quality is terrible, the service is extremely lame. At one point a middle aged lady came over to us, I could tell she cared and was perhaps the owner? Don't know, but I feel very sorry for her. The only other couple dining there were overcharged to the tune of about fifteen bucks, they spent about ten minutes getting their check straight. It's really sad to see this, that was such an awesome restaurant.
