Several family stays at Windemere were wonderful. Great rooms, great service, great amenities.

On the plus side the rooms have microwave, frig, cable, high speed internet access & coffee in room. On the down side customer service is inconsistent; the wall paper was coming off the wall in our room; every hallway carpet had multiple large spots; the ironing board cover looked disgusting.

However, We have stayed in worse but it is a far cry from a luxury hotel.

This Hotel and Conference Center is badly in need of upgrade in every aspect of their business. They have very poor top management, the worst catering management, banquet accommodations, food service, cooks, and reservation assistants I have ever encountered. In working with them we have experienced: Podium not in place or even available, Flags not available as requested, contract not being honored, registration tables not set up, no chairs at registration tables, meeting room not ready on time, insufficient seating and tables available, dirty or no silverware, lack of water & tea on tables as requested, cold coffee or coffee not ready. They prefer buffet type agreements, and find it very difficult to provide table service for large groups. Very poor food both in quality and quantity, variety and presentation. Most of all, they never have sufficient set-up, serving and busing staff to get the job done for groups between 40 to 80!
But being the "only large facility in town" they have consumers and groups at their mercy presently.
Thank you.

A group of us had booked five rooms for two nights and everyone had the same opinion: the hotel needs new pillows! They were awful, bunched-up wads of filling, stuffed into cases. Enough to keep you from sleeping well.

Next, we ate in the dining room. VERY slow -- took us two hours to eat and it wasn't because we were having such a good experience. Food cooked poorly and some of it had spent way too much time under heat lamps waiting for the rest of it. By the way, the restaurant was near empty.

Free breakfast buffet is supposed to serve until 9; at 8:45 they were out of eggs and some other things and, oh well. They didn't bring any more out and refused a request to do so.

Finally, the water system is bad. Shower hot, then cool, then hot, and lots of noise from upstairs guests showering, flushing, etc.

This is the third (and final) time we all have stayed in this hotel. Sorry, definitely a downhill slide.

I have stayed in hotels/motels around the world and as for U.S. standards this hotel isn't as bad as some of the previous ratings let on. I was in rm 161 next to the Conference Room areas and THERE WAS NO MOLD OR MILDEW found in my room or the area. Sure, carpet stains can be found in ANY older hotel in the area if LOOKED FOR HARD ENOUGH, but that doesn't deter from the customer service or the cleanliness of the room. I think the bad ratings are from people who like to complain or were born with GOLDEN SPOONS in there mouths. The staff [Dani] and location [mall, eating establishments] made up for the low water pressure which was the only discrepancy I found. Thank you, Windemere Hotel!

Worst hotel we've stayed in besides a dumpy place in Vegas once. The service was terrible, the room had stains on the walls and the smell of mildew was overwhelming. The carpets had stains and spots all over them. The scary looking security guy sitting in the lobby watching TV was a nice touch. Sheesh. Would never stay there again. Run Forest Run! Blechhhh!

We cancelled after staying one night and moved to the Marriott across the street. Clean, new, quiet.

The ONLY reason The Windemere continues to exist is because of the military sending TDY and PCS personnel there and there is no temp housing readily available. Oh, and because they accept dogs. BIG dogs. Dogs that bark all night while their owner is down in the bar. Dogs that rip the ROOM apart. Rooms with moldy, mildewy SHOWERS. Showers that have such low water pressure.... well, you get the idea. On the up side, the cleaning staff is friendly. Not the front desk staff, but they have some very sweet housekeepers employed there. I think this is their only redeeming quality. If I had family coming to stay, I would put them up at Sierra Suites or the BW. This isn't even a good place for their 'free' breakfast that they charge you for it, and wait to see if you'll dispute it. If you don't, you lose alot of $$$ stick to other lodging if coming to visit beautiful Sierra Vista, Az.
