“Dirty bugs and walk out !!!”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

We were looking for a fun cheap vacation to nearby Tombstone AZ and wanted a summer place with air conditioning and pool. It was a Motel 6 so we we obviously not looking for a 5 star hotel. When we got our room we entered to find a mildew smell of unbearable measure. The floor was crawling with black bugs and beetles. My girls put on their bathing suits to jump in the pool only to come back disgusted by a green pool that looked like something out of national lampoons vacation. We decided to lay down and rest to get out of the afternoon heat and my daughter lays her head in what I think was jelly on the pillow. If there was jelly that for sure tells me they were NOT changed. That was the final straw after the staff was anything but helpful. We went up the street and stayed at an older hotel for half the price but received double the room and a beautiful pool. So glad we walked out!!!

Passing through Sierra Vista and because Motel Six does not charge for pets we stayed here. NEVER AGAIN!!! Horrible is not strong enough. There were 3 different areas that had groups of people hanging around on the 2nd level. It was obvious drug deals were going on as one car after another showed up for a short time and then left. We saw the manager stop someone from going through the dumpster. As we got to the motel one early evening we noticed a group of people under some trees on the property who were obviously either drunk or high. One woman approached us with a "Husler" tee shirt on stating she lost her food stamp card and had been out all day looking for work and could you please spear a buck. The staff seems nice enough but overwhelmed at the amount of security issues going on. The room we had stunk and looked bare and need a remodel. The sidewalks were dirty and we were afraid to take a dip in the pool. The place is scary and feels dangerous. I will be writing to the home office.

Room Tip: Ask to see a room first and then leave.

Having driven across the country from Virginia with my son and his family and stayed in various motels our last motel turned out to be the worst. The air conditioning pumped out hot air and was so noisy we couldn't have used it even if it was producing cold air. The whole room looked like it could do with a revamp, including the bathroom. The beds were clean and fairly comfortable but that was about the only positive. There were other guests/residents who hung around in groups on the upstairs walk way outside rooms, the language was not what you want your 5 year old grandchild to hear and the noise level went up the later it got. Thankfully the next day my son and family moved into their housing on Post, we would have gone elsewhere if we had not been doing so.
Would not recommend.
Motel 6 don't bother leaving the light on for us...we won't be stopping again.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, ask to check room and facilities first. Check if a/c works and ask if ther...

Lovely friendly place to stay - clean and tidy and very friendly. Wonderful Wifi - and great coffee in the morning. Very local and over all the second time we have stayed there it just confirms that its a good night.
Stayed only one night - beds were fine and pillows great.
Be aware that there do not seem to be any non smoking rooms or if there are they are rare. The smell although distasteful for a converted non smoker it did not take over the friendliness of the hotel.

Room Tip: Close to the town and eating places. We had a connecting room with friends. One of the rooms was ava...

We stayed here in May for a school field trip based on it's location. Not that far from the interstate and easy to get to.

The rooms were surprisingly good. The carpet and furnishings were clean and looked like it just got updated. The bed was fine. The bathroom needed some updating--the shower/tub was showing some wear and the walls needed to be repainted. It's hard to complain when we were paying $38/night. The rooms came with a microwave and refrigerator too.

The exterior of the hotel needed some help--the sidewalks were cracked and the building looks like it could use a new coat of paint. The steps on the outdoor stairs were not level, so could be a hazard if you're not paying attention going up and down the stairs.

The complimentary breakfast was mainly cereal, toast, and a waffle maker. There was some fruit. The coffee REALLY needed some help. Good thing there's a microwave and coffee maker in the room--you can make your own. There is a self service water dispenser that sells water by the gallon across the street(you need to bring your own container). This is great if you're a tea drinker.

My brother drove all the way from Washington state for a visit and stayed one night in Motel 6, Sierra Vista, AZ. He had asked for a non smoking room and got one that smelled like an ashtray. The next morning he called me and said he had found a bug crawling accross the bed. I work for a pest control company so I got into my truck and drove over there. I picked up the mattress and found a bed bug right away. I put it into a cup and took it to the front office and informed them that theyhad a problem. The girl at the desk said she would inform the manager. My brother had to launder all of his clothes and I treated his bags, telling him to also place everything into plastic bags and place them into the direct sunlight to kill any eggs that may have been missed. I came back an hour or so later and peeked into the room and two guys were taking the bed apart. Great, they were going to move the old bed out and bring in another one? That doesn't get rid of the problem. My advice is to stay the hell away from this dump. They apparently don't want to spend the money to take care of the problem.

Room Tip: Run away! Stay elsewhere! You'll get bugs to take home!

Have stayed here twice. Even though I had complained about being sprayed by the toilet when you flushed I booked a room the night of March 24 because my grandson was being deployed on the 25th and I was traveling with my dog. Well nothing had been done. They seem to care more about saving water than they do about deluted urine and feces being sprayed on the floor and on the walls and on the customers. YUKK! They don't flip their mattresses either so you sleep sliding down a hill. Heard people going up the stairs to the upper floor also. When grandson returns will stay some place else. Not the worst Motel 6. It's the 2nd worst. The worst is west side of El Paso.
