“Fabulous Italian Food In Snowflake!”
Reviewed 19 October 2011

On the outskirts of Snowflake is a delightful Italian restaurant, where the proprieter
takes great pride in each plate. Enzo's decor is minimal, but the homemade food is divine. Warm, crusty garlic sticks were devoured. Our minestrone soup was heavenly. The fragrant rich broth was filled with traditional pasta, beans & vegetables. Not a drop was left in the bowl.
Companions 'Pollo Al Pesto,' featured penne pasta & chicken tenders in a creamy pesto sauce. Topped with grated cheeses, this dish was highly enjoyable. My 'Manicotti,' stuffed with several Italian cheeses was lucious. A scant bit of housemade marinara was drizzled throughout. Next time, I might order a side of marinara.
Vegetarian lasagna is laced with sauteed mushrooms & fresh spinach, between al dente' pasta and several cheeses. (A meat variety is also offered.)
Meals are literally prepared to order, so be prepared to wait. This small (10 table) establishment, allows patrons to BYOB with no corkage fee. Service is lacking, but food of this quality, easily makes up for it Good company paired with proper planning (a nice red wine) help the time pass easily. Desert is limited to spumoni, so we took a pass.
We will be back soon to try more entree's. I'm hungry already.

“Best Italian Food EVER!”
Reviewed 26 September 2011

Seriously, I don't want to go to any other Italian restaurant again! Unfortunately, I don't live in Snowflake, but I will make a special trip to visit this place again.

Not much atmosphere, warnings about being patient as the food is prepared when you order, service is marginal by a pleasant but not very engaged waitress, but who cares?? The food was stellar. Absolutely stellar.

“Great food, interesting business philosophy”
Reviewed 12 August 2011

I like a restaurant that knows what it wants to focus on, and is very up front in letting customers know in advance; that is Enzo's.

You want ambiance, fast service, extensive wine list, full dolci, bantering with the chef...go somewhere else (even to the point of only open Wed-Sat, 4-830, no reservations).

You want REALLY good food, at a really good price, with the ability to bring in your own beverages at no corkage...this is your place!!

Starting with the one-step above folding chairs 8-table seating (but impeccably clean) and the menu full of disclaimers about paying for what you order; you know this place is focused.

The salad and soup were nothing spectacular, salad tasted from a bag and you put on your own dressing, soup was okay.

But our cannelloni and shrimp diablo were both very well prepared; melt-in-your mouth pasta, perfect spice combinations, and more than adequate serving sizes (it helped we brought a really good sangiovese!).

The blackboard said desert was spumoni, we passed...

A neighboring table had what looked like well prepared pizza...maybe another time.

The waitress was sufficient (a very nice young girl, my guess is the owner's daughter/niece); got our drinks when asked, but probably serving in between doing her homework in the kitchen. :-)

Best of all, the 2 meals included the soup/salad, and with soft drinks still came in at ~$40.

There you go...that is it! Great food and little else, but it is your fault if you expect anything different.
