We live in Sun City Grand and play the 4 courses built there by Dell Webb as part of a marvelous retirement community. Two of our favorites are Granite Falls North and Granite Falls South. Both are meticulously maintained. While the holes are bordered by homes, the houses are far enough off the course so as not to detract from the open feeling you will get on the course. Both present an ample challenge of golf regardless of one's handicap. They are playable, beautiful, and fun courses that will not make golfers wonder why they even tried. Residents get a discounted greens fee but even the guest/or non resident fees are reasonable by today's standards. Water comes into play more than one might imagine on a desert course. The fairways are generous, the greens are large (two or three clubs difference from front to back) and undulating. The palm trees that lend to the beauty of the course are not going to interfere with shots that are well placed. But, hit the ball off line and be prepared to lose it in a water hole, find it behind a cactus or lose it in some long tough rough that surrounds some of the greens. Call the course for tee times or questions. There is a single pro shop manages both the North and South courses. The staff at Granite Falls are friendly and most willing to help.
