“Awesome!”
Reviewed 17 May 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the Landmark on 5/14 and out on 5/17. The hospitality was awesome. The hotel room was ABOVE average, but very clean and well worth the price. The evening fire pits were lit and the pool was perfect. The breakfast which is made to order and complimentary was awesome and unbelievable that it was complimentary. The reservationist was well versed on Tombstone and beat most concierges I've experienced at the big chains. GREAT JOB!

We stayed here two nights because my husband is a mad history student of this part of the world and has hankered to come to Tombstone for years. We were going to stay somewhere else in Tombstone that didn't reply to our travel agent's request for a quote so this was our second choice.
You can't miss it from the road in the dark because neon cacti light up the driveway. The clerk was friendly upon check in and gave us some potted history of the town and advice regarding the various shows and happenings each day in town.
The room was old and very tired and could benefit from an update. The air conditioning was wretched, a noisy old unit set into the wall which was impossible to keep on all night because it was so loud and basically useless because it should be set from the ceiling so the cold air falls from it not blowing under the bed!
Paper cups must be a feature of American hotels for coffee in the rooms because there was nothing else and no kettle or tea. Actually Australians should be wary of American hotels in this regard, they just do not get the concept of tea, there is only ever a coffe maker if you're lucky and never a kettle anywhere to be had.
The bathroom was kitschly situated behind swing type saloon doors and the sink set so low that it you had to crouch down to wash your hands. There were plenty of towels but no soap nor toiletries and a good hanging rack for clothes. The tv however is very old and very poor reception (that might be the location of the hotel though)
The breakfast is free but you have to eat in the cafe, you cannot take it back to your room, I wanted to take a bowl of cereal and some toast back to the room and was told I could have the cereal, in a paper cup! but I could have the toast on a plate. When I asked why I couldn't have a bowl for the cereal I was told you can't have the breakfast in your room. It was a bit weird because isn't toast on a plate like cereal in a bowl, ie breakfast in your room? I did eventually get to take a bowl of cereal and a plate of toast to the room but only after I made assurances to the front desk that I would return the corckery as soon as I had finished eating.
Watch the magnetic room keys they give you, they tend to deactivate really easily by just putting them in your wallet and also have to be used to even use the drink and ice machine.
You cannot walk into town from here, but you're only a two minute drive away and also BootHill cemetary is the next turn left as you go towards town.
It was nothing flash, it was ok. Remember you are in Tombstone to visit the town so you're probably not in your room all that much, enjoy Tombstone and soak up the history of what is a fascinating town.

Room Tip: Ask for one that's not adjacent to the car park.

The best part of the stay for us was the pool and fire pit. Beautiful scenery. One gentleman I forget his name but he has a ponytail, was super friendly and was very knowledgeable about the area. The room in general was nice. The only suggestion I would have is provide extra towels for the pool so you dont have to use your shower towel. On a side note if your going into town to see the tourist attractions make sure you check the the times it closes early during the week!

Clean rooms, great breakfast included! Loved the pool, the staff was friendly and helpful. They even have roasting sticks for marshmallows out by the fire pits. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Have stayed here many times before actually buying a place in the desert there . It is the most fantastic place to watch the dun come up over the desert and the dragoon mountains I do miss living there but when we go back we will be sure to stay at this best western motel it's like being home

We spent one night here to visit Tombstone. The room was clean although somewhat dated. The bed was comfortable and the room a reasonable size. The picture on the TV was barely watchable, the walls paper thin and the person in the room next door was in and out of the room for most of the night with their door making a noise like a ghost train every time they opened it. The bath didnt drain properly so I ended up in a couple if inches of water trying to shower. The breakfast was free and cook to order so nice and fresh, and there were options which was nice until the chef made an appearance which nearly put us off our food. The man on the front desk when we arrive was friendly, very knowledgeable about the area and helpful. Hotel was in a great location for visiting Tombstone which was what we wanted.

Do not pass this one up. We really liked this place. Very clean. Very quiet. Very reasonably priced. The view is great. Nice garden right outside our ground level floor to sit and gaze at the dessert. Enjoyed the fire pit that evening too. Complementary full hot breakfast is very good. Staff is very friendly. We stayed one night, and wanted to stay another, but had to go. Another couple we met while staying there did decide to stay. They liked it so much too.

Tombstone is just around the corner. Fun place to visit.
