“beach front bar in Domincal - great flavor of the area”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

this is a classic beachfront bar on the amazing, with a great mix of different adventurers, surfers, locals, ex-pats....watch out where you park so your car doesnt get dented by coconuts. the eclectic flavor of Domincal is on full display at Tortilla Flats.

“Still good but a little inconsistent”
Reviewed 29 July 2014

We generally love tortilla Flats, primarily for their signature dishes, including Sean's Volcano and the Coconut Mahi. The prices are reasonable, and for a place that looks like a surfer hang out, the food is very good and tasty.

For lunch, we almost always get the Casado, with either beef or chicken. That's why we were so disappointed a few nights ago to find that they were out of several key items in the restaurant. I realize that running a restaurant is no easy task, especially in a slower part of the season, but it's some point you have to make sure that you have enough food so that you don't disappoint your customers. In the end, our waiter was able to cobble together some wine from a nearby store and make substitutions.

Consistency is hard to achieve, but it is what drives brands to be held in high esteem. Tortilla Flats is generally very good, and we will treat this most recent experience as a fluke. Highly recommend are Sean's volcano, and the Coconut Mahi, which delight us every time we visit.

“Fun beach Side Breakfast until Sunset”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

This is a great place for every meal! You can have a cold beer or a fabulous Costa Rican breakfast. I've been going her for years and have watch fit grow. The quality is solid and it is always fun to walk barefoot into the sandy bar. And my kids can always find something to eat!

“Good Food, Awesome View!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

We went here on the advice of our dive master, and I'm glad he suggested it! The passion fruit/basil margarita and smoothies were wonderful! The veggie casada and mahi mahi burger were very fresh and flavorful. The view was especially nice :)

We returned after going to the beach in hopes of all getting the brownie sundaes, but they were all out :( the one piece of chocolate cake was shared by the kids and the adults had to have carrot cake. It was good, don't get me wrong, but when you have your heart set on a brownie carrot cake just doesn't cut it.

“Unfriendly and double service charge”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Came here for dinner because the beach front vibe seemed nice and the food wasn't too expensive. Unfortunately, service wasn't very friendly, especially at the bar. The food was really average and when we got the bill the cost was much more than we expected because there were what looked like two kind of service charge. A disappointing evening spent here.
