Thank you so much for you glowing review! We try hard to go above and beyond expectations and we are so glad that you were pleased! Please come again soon.
My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel and wished we had more time. The views were so amazing. Cindy gave of lots of information on different excursions we should take and provided information on the two waterfalls that are nearby, which were excellent. The breakfasts were so delicious. The size of our room was extremely large with plenty of space. Our balcony that overlooked the ocean was my favorite place to sit, very private and relaxing. There is a bar called Jolly Rogers just down the road, delicious wings. The ride up to hotel is very challenging and a 4x4 is definitely needed, but it is worth it!
Villas Alturas was a great experience- we enjoyed the amazing views and has a very comfortable stay. The pool was the highlight of our time at Villas Alturas! The road was the only downside of the trip as it was in poor condition and extremely bumpy.
Great views , rooms were a not bad ac unit was not working to well bathrooms were nothing special great pool area friendly staff and owners , major issue was the Road ! Actually it's a steep bumpy and rough, It is a horrible 7 minutes so make sure u have a good 4x4 or else don't bother .
Originally booked in for 1 night- but made it 2 & changed our travel plans after we arrived & were so impressed by the views & standard and size of accomodation.
Pro's- location, views, size of room (we had the villa by the pool) and general 'luxury' feel to the place & it's amenities- particularly for the price paid.
Con's- some may view the drive up the hill (we didnt and had a 4x4 anyway); we could hear everthing going on in the accomodation behind our bedroom- we only heard conversations but could easily have heard 'other' things if you catch my drift! (wouldnt have been offended by that either to be honest!!).
In the top 3 of our 11 stays in different accomodations in CR.
Beautiful villas close to Dominical Beach so you get both privacy and easy access to bars and surfing. Great pool and decks with rocking chairs to relax. Drive to Dominical for drinks and food at Tortilla Flats or try a surf lesson.
Owner Cindy gives awesome advice on activities in the area: Playa Ventanas beach for sea caves, Tilapia fishing, surf school, restaurants.
Only concern: hard to get up the dirt hill, especially at night.
Overall, highly recommended!
