We stayed in the Toucan and Monkey rooms at the Costa Paraiso in early August. This was our favorite place of the entire trip. Both rooms were large, clean, and wonderfully decorated. The view from the deck of the Toucan was spectacular. The staff was so nice and helpful. Sandra helped us arrange a fishing trip the night we arrived for the next morning. She also arranged a horseback trip for us. The grounds are beautiful and right on the beach. This was one of the few places we found where you could stay just steps from the beach.

The food in the attached restaurant was so good that we wound up eating there the whole stay.

We really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. There are only five rooms so it is not crowded. It is also in a good location to explore both the Manuel Antonio area and the beaches further to the south.

My only regret is that we only stayed two nights. I could have easily stayed much longer.

Our trip to Costa Rica was to the Osa Peninsula and we booked this hotel as a mid way stay to/from San Jose. Of the five rooms we stayed in three and were pleased with the staff, the facilities and the cleanliness of the rooms. The view of the ocean was particularly soothing after a day in the car. Book it with confidence!

Room Tip: The Toucan nest has the best views of the ocean.

My girlfriend are expecting a baby in a few months so we were looking for somewhere nice where we could relax, have beautiful views, and be close to any activities we would be interested in doing. We travel a lot, usually roughing it with minimal amenities but this time around we wanted to be able to kick up our feet and relax as much as possible. Costa Paraiso provided all of that and more--and was originally why we chose to stay in Dominical. The cabanas are beautiful and tastefully decorated. We stayed in the Monkey and after our 3 day reservation expired (intending to try somewhere else) we ended up extending it another 2 nights. We didn't want to leave! The high vaulted ceilings, the furniture, I thought it made you feel at home and our kitchenette even had a blender which was great for our homemade pina coladas. We were there over Labor Day weekend and even though it was hot during the day we never even needed the A/C, we just kept the windows open for the ocean breeze (which you can hear by the way). The staff, pets, restaurant, are all wonderful and already plan on bringing our child there someday.

Room Tip: The Monkey can sleep 4 but completely ok for a couple. I loved that you could see the ocean without...

Thanks very much for the kind review Mattea. It was great to have you and your girlfriend stay with us during such an important time in your lives...glad we were able to help you relax and enjoy yourselves. You guys are the best guests to have although next time you'll have to share that Pina Colada recipe. They did smell great! Looking forward to meeting the newest edition to your family one day. Clean, comfortable, safe, and trusting place to stay. Have stayed at several places in Costa Rica this place makes the top of my list. Food is amazing for breakfast lunch and dinner but still would suggest eating in the towns around you so you can experience the local tastes. The rooms are amazing with all you need and very clean. I will be there again soon!! Thanks you thank you for the awesome time and making our trip so great

Costa Paraiso is fantastic. My crew of four, mid-twenties travelers stayed in one of the cabanas in May 2012. The location is wonderful and the staff is amazing. The young woman who works at the reception (unfortunately I can't remember her name) makes you feel right at home. The food is also delicious. Our favorite items to order were the smoothies and stuffed french toast made from homemade bread in the morning and the Red Snapper for dinner. We stayed at 3 hotels while in CR; one near Arenal, one in Manuel Antonio and finally ended our trip at Costa Paraiso. Costa Paraiso was by far our favorite hotel. The only downside is that there is not a sandy beach in front of the hotel and the staff recommends that guests stay off the rocks for safety reasons. The hotel makes up for the lack of a beach though with a great pool that overlooks the water and the hammocks all around the property. The hotel is affordable, beautiful and small enough to make you feel right at home.

My family and I were looking for a simple place where we could reside for the night. With its central location between Dominical and Uvita, we we able to venture out and explore all that the area had to offer. When we came across Costa Paraiso we were a little misled by the very steep driveway and narrow gate that led us to the parking lot. But just as soon as we had checked in to the Monkey Room, we were pleased with their genuine hospitality. After checking in we decided to grab some dinner, and were pleasantly surprised by their diverse menu. There were so many delicious, yet healthy choices. After dinner, we all laid down in the most invitingly comfortable beds. We had just enough time to talk about how happy we were with what we had ordered for dinner before we were passed out. Even our four-legged furry companion was very cozy in this air-conditioned "paradise." In the morning we were surprised to see that our room looked over the beach. The location was just perfect enough for us to saunter down to the beach and take a nice long walk, complete with frisbee time before breakfast. We were able to happily tell the bilingual hosts at reception that we would be so delighted as to stay another two nights. We didn't even bother to look at other places because we were just so comfortable here. Our next two nights were just as good as the first, if not better(: We will most definitely recommend this place to friends and will certainly stay here next time in Dominical.

Paraiso - is well named. Coming from the rainforest in Drake Bay this little gem was a welcome slice of heaven. Great views, cool staff, good food with grounds and location to die for! Uncrowded, safe, and clean. Great price for what you get in location, life and rest. Nice proximity to options and a little surf village that creates a chill vibe you can't fake. We looked around after we got here and know we made a great decision coming here. Just hope with a positive review they will give us a priority for a room next time we come through as we know this gem will be packed way too often! Loved it.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with any room here!
