we stayed here for a night and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - especially mauricio.
Just a short troll from a fabulous beach and short stroll from the shops and otehr restaurants, it really is very well placed. The rooms are clean and light and the restaurant was relaxed with good food and wine. Mauricio organised a snokelling trip to cano island for us and that was wonderful. we saw mother an baby dolphins on the way and many colourful fish when snorkelling. then we were taken to an idyllic quiet beach for a picninc complete with table and fresh picked mangoes.
we left our video camera then but mauricio kindly arranged its return at our convenience.
Mauricio is a great manager and host.

Room Tip: try for an upstairs room with a view.

This place is very average, at least the rooms with shared bathroom, like the one I experienced.

I know it's a remote place and the cabanas would be fairly rustic, but there are a lot of things that should be improved. First of all, the bed's mattress was really bad, so bad that the morning after you can clearly observe a whole and the deformed shape on it. Also, the fan in our room was so rickety and noisy that either you slept with it off and roast yourself or you had to turn it on and wouldn't be able to sleep because of the noise.

The bathrooms were OK but there is only cold water. Also, they need to be cleaned more than once when shared - we found some unpleasant floating surprises in there!..

Breakfast is not included but the food in the restaurant is good.

I was disappointed that I booked a tour with the hotel's front desk and when I asked what kind of clothing I should take into the national park, they suggested light clothes. I asked if shorts would be OK and Manolo said "sure". End result? I got ticks on my legs, subsequent tick fever and was very, very sick for many days afterwards...

I hope you can find better than this place in Drake Bay.

We stayed in Cabinas Manolo for 3 nights in September. The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious with a nice dek with chairs and a hammock. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They can help you with all the tours you're interested in. Nice restaurant, which opens very early so that you can get a breaky before going on a tour. Close to supermarkets, bars and 'downtown' Drake Bay.

My husband i stayed here for three days and two nights in August 2012. The room was perfect and Mauricio at reception bent over backwards to find us the exact tours that we wanted. Drake's Bay lost power the first night we were there, but the staff at our hotel provided candles and made sure we were comfortable even without power. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience Corcovado.

I don't need fancy accommodations, but I do need things to be clean. I swear, there must have been toilet cleaning fairies because, despite it being shared, that was the most immaculate bathroom I've ever been in.

We had a tour booked that required long pants. My wife accidentally lost some of her luggage and didn't have any long pants. The staff at Manolo lent her a pair to use. How many hotels have you been to where they'd literally give you the shirt of their back. :)

Cabinas Manolo is a family run facility and they have excellent staff which strives to make your comforable and make you feel at home. The rooms are clean and were surprised to find the price in the retaurnat to be similar to what you find in any "soda" place in costa rica. Soda in costa rice mean family run restaurnt providing typical costa rica food at low price. The Drake Bay is remote and we were told to pay extra for food but were pleasantly surprise with prices at this restaurnts. The facility is full of triopical food trees.
The tours provided by them are of top notch, it includes breakfast lunch. I hightly reommend Corcovado day trip tour, we saw tapir, macaw, toucan, coati, ant eater and 3 type of monkeys and few other animals.

We were a group of 11 and traveled to Drake Bay for 4 nights the 3rd week of July, 2012. We were a large group and Mauricio handled all of our needs prior to arrival like a pro. Our stay included a tour to Corcovado National Park and Isla Canos (Highly Recommend). Tour guide Xavier is the expert. Request him if possible. We also chose to do the night tour with the "Bug Lady" Tracie along with her husband Gian and it was well worth it. We are still talking about all the nocturnal creatures we saw thanks to their expertise! Our accommodations included the family standard room as well as 3 standard rooms. We had one room with a noisy fan but other than that, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Our group loved coming to our "veranda" with 2 hammocks and having happy hour there. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and the staff was super friendly. Any request we had was met with willingness to please and they did. If you want fancy, this is not the place for you. If you want clean, cozy, friendly, good food and fun times, Cabinas Manolo will deliver! Muchas gracias por todo Manolo, Mauricio and staff. We had a blast!
