If you want an authentic taste of local cuisine, eat here. The fish is fresh, offered in eithier as part of your casado or you can have a whole fish at three different serving sizes. This I highly recommend. They do not speak English but the menu is bilingual.

We had the whole fried fresh fish and quanabana shakes...simply wonderful! The food and place are simple, very basic, but the fish is so fresh and good!

We and several others we knew ate at Soda Mar y Bosque during our time in Drake Bay and loved it. Good food, reasonable prices, and a rather unique view were all appreciated, but the batidos! Oh my God, the batidos... The papaya and maracuya were my favourites, but there were other flavours available, depending on what was in stock. It's well worth having a smoothie there after an afternoon of hiking, snorkeling, or what have you, even if you don't eat.

The bathroom, mind you, is a little on the rustic side, even for me.

Bonus: If you go before sundown you can watch the chickens that live below the restaurant fly up into a tree and roost there. It's pretty awesome.

We had breakfast here a couple of times during our stay. Good way to set up the day with good choices and great coffee.
