My older brother and I finished our two weeks traveling in Costa Rica by staying four nights in Drake Bay in search of amazing wildlife and gorgeous beaches. We heard a few recommendations for hostels but chose Martina's and couldn't have been happier. The hostel's crazy nice for the price, is super friendly, and makes your trip in Drake Bay completely easy/enjoyable. There's lots of space, it's right next to the beach, has great coffee, filtered water, and the always important fans. Martina's is also right in the middle of "town" so it's a short walk to either of the grocery stores, really affordable awesome restaurants/bars, and about a 30-40 minute walk to Cocalito Beach. They're about to finish some new dorms that also looked awesome...
Martina also had great recommendations/connections for land and sea tours of the Corcovado and Cano Island. If you're there for 3 days I'd ask Martina for info on the 2.5 hour walk/hike to Rio Claro - ask about the boat guy, go on a combo tour of Sirena, San Padrillo, and either do snorkeling or scuba. Even snorkeling with some rain and bad visibility I saw sharks, sea turtles, and was surrounded by thousands of fish. On the way back we also saw a few humpback whales and dolphins so I bet the whale watching tour is also great.
Hoping to go back some day.. Enjoy
