“Awesome Stay!”

Jinetes de Osa has one of the best prices for a great vacation in Drake Bay. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and the service is excellent. They feed us so much we could not eat all the food served and the meals are 5 stars! They would get us coffee through out the day anytime we asked for, and this area is a great get away for all purposes. Highly recommended! Steps from the beach.

We happened upon Jinetes at the end of a long beach hike and we are so glad we did. Checked out of the place we were staying and checked in here the next day. The property itself is irresistibly charming in a ramshackle 'Robinson Crusoe' kind of way. The ocean is practically at your feet even from the room. It really is incredibly special. All the food (3 meals a day included!) is lovingly prepared and delicious. This place attracts guests of all types and age ranges...each of them very cool and friendly, it's just that kind of place. Arranging tours through the hotel is effortless but I didn't even care to leave the upstairs open air lounge (where we were visited a few times by very curious monkeys). The staff is laid back in the best possible way. They are super friendly but also absolute professionals. You don't need to worry about a single thing. (not even the scorpion in our room which was removed by the valiant and fearless Carlos!) The manager Patrick and everything man Giovanni were our main hosts and have that way of making you feel instantly at ease and free to do as you please. If you need them though they are there. Nature Air changed our flight time at the last minute which messed up all our connections and Patrick got everything back in line for us in a stress free minute. That's just one example of how well you're taken care of here. Thanks to the whole staff for such a great time. We cant wait to come back. Sincerely, Bill&Marcus.

Drake Bay was remote and beautiful and Jinetes de Osa was in a wonderful location. All the staff, especially Giovanni and Maritsa, were so very helpful and friendly day in and day out with everyone! The trips were amazing, guides were informative and fun.We saw all kinds of animals and fish. We also really enjoyed the group dinners and sharing stories about our day adventures and other travels. Food was ample and decent. We had a great jungle vacation.

Room Tip: get superior room they are much nicer. rooms are not sound proof but lovely sound of waves help a lo...

Lovely Hotel with excellent staff who really look after you. Probably the best service we've ever had on a diving trip/vacation. Excellent location. And the meals were fantastic; fresh homemade bread Every day. Really enjoyed the sit down evening meal. Take the Jinettes Zip Line tour - great fun.

Room Tip: Bring water shoes. There are no piers here, so entry is directly on the boat. No shampoe or washclo...

My husband and I just got back from our first wedding anniversary trip to Costa Rica. We spent the first three nights of our trip in Jinetes de Osa Hotel and it was great! Many reviewers have mentioned that the hotel is 'rustic' - let me just start by saying that if you are going to a place as unspoiled as this and you are looking for a grand, fancy hotel then you should rethink your vacation. The best part about Drake Bay is that it is completely devoid of giant hotels and tourist attractions. The beaches are absolutely pristine.

But I digress. The hotel is akin to cabin camping in the best possible way. The bar/restaurant/lounge areas are great places to relax and have a meal and/or drink. The food was not fancy but that was really comforting. It felt like we were being served what everyone else in town was having for dinner that night. Good, local food.

The superior rooms have plenty of space and giant showers. The windows have no glass, only screens. And if you've ever camped in place this hot, you'll be happy to have the lovely breeze the screens provide. The deck in front of the rooms is a great place to watch the sun come up or spot wildlife. We saw monkeys and macaws close enough to touch while having our morning coffee. Some reviewers have mentioned the waves being loud. Yes, you are RIGHT on the beach and the waves are audible in the rooms. So are birds, monkeys and bugs. It's the rainforest. Enjoy it.

The staff is great and gives helpful and detailed information about any upcoming tours or excursions you have booked.

Many people have commented on the beach out front not being safe because of crocs. Yes, there are crocs in the area and we did see them. However, you'll see locals in the water throughout the day. Everyone we spoke with said there has never been an incident. I went in the water and had no problems. In fact, diving is the top attraction here - so don't fret it. There is another beach that is lovely about a 25-30 minute walk from Jinetes, but the current is very strong (and I'm a very strong swimmer) and the drop off is close to shore and very deep. I would not recommend swimming there.

Overall, we had an amazing start to our trip and met some really cool people. This is definitely the place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at Jinetas for our honeymoon. We had already been in Costa Rica for five days when we arrived at Jinetas. The staff immediately gave us the rundown and made us feel comfortable. The tour are very professional done, food is wonderful, and the family style meals are a perfect ending to a day of snorkeling, diving, hiking and more. Out of three hotels we stayed at during our two week trip, Jinetas is on the last for return trips.

Friendly pleasant staff...especially Marisa who is a wonderful person and always ready to assist her guests and to help her guests above and beyond the necessities of employment. The rooms were clean and pleasant if spartan. There is no air condoning but there are 2 fans in each room . The diving staff is very helpful and even though visibility ranged from good to fair, we always saw something worth seeing. The dive with the worse visibility, we were surrounded by a tremendous school of bright yellow angel fish...it was just amazing.

Room Tip: The rooms by the office area offer nice views and cool breezes.
