“Decent motel”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

Our travel agent booked us in here because, at short notice, she couldn't find us rooms nearer Monument Valley. Our initial reactions were not good - Tuba City is a slightly strange, tired sort of place, and on the motel forecourt as we drove up two mangy-looking dogs were picking their way through a bag of refuse. But once inside, things got a lot better. The motel is well run, rooms are decent (ours looked onto a pleasant square of greenery around which the motel is built) and well equipped. As other reviewers have noted, the aircon is loud. But it wasn't particularly hot that night so we switched it off and opened the window instead - there's a flyscreen so we weren't bothered by flying beasties. Tuba City is not blessed with many eating options and none of them is going to win a Michelin star. But the motel is a few steps from four of them - Hogan's, Kate's Cafe, a MacDonald's and a Taco Bell.

Stayed here with family & friends in July 2013.
The staff was friendly, rooms were clean - but the price is double compared to other locations e.g. Bryce Canyon (Panguitch), Mesa Verde (Cortez).
"Complimentary" breakfast was a joke - the portions were small even for our kids (7 & 11 yrs), drinks charged extra.
Though not too many accommodation possibilities en route from Grand Canyon to Monument Valley...

My phone call to the Navaho Nation Quality Inn in Tuba City Arizona managed to book the last room. The very nice young lady at the front desk had apologetically told me that last room was a smoking room and it would smell of smoke. I have stayed at the Navajo Nation Quality Inn before and the rooms were always very clean so I told her I bet even a smoking room would not be that bad. She reiterated that it would smell of smoke and she did not want me dissatisfied. Yutah and I decided to chance sleeping in a smoking room rather than sleeping in the car (smile) so we took it. The room was so clean that there was only a hint of smoke smell and believe me I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke. I am so glad we decided to take the smoking room! Once again this great place has proven well worth the money.

Room Tip: Don't swim or use gym but I would imagine they are as clean and well maintained as the rooms

The hotel is rather old but it has marvelous view from the rooms. The room is huge, very spacious and comfortable. Good base to explore Antelope Canyon and on the way to the Grand Canyon. Breakfast is OK.

Front desk is very nice. The room and hallway was neat and clean. After an hour the room finally cooled off some. The fridge in the room was off, so useless. Very limited choices for hot breakfast at the restaurant next door, but the food was plenty and tasty. They do have a coffee or tea bar in the lobby. The internet was weak and some of the electrical outlets did not function at all. Room rate charged was more than that listed on the door and this was with AAA discount. They were full but I never heard the other guests due to the AC running.

Very remote location but a must when traveling from the Grand Canyon to any of the northern Arizona or Utah parks. We stop here often and it gets better each time. The local restsurant at the hotel is Hogans. Not gourmet for sure but well suited to a small budget and big appetite. Everyone is so friendly! Be sure to hit the Trading post next door for fabulous choices, though a little pricey... Not your typical Navajo choices.
