We stayed at the Dine Inn in June. This was a very clean and neat family owned hotel. We were on the way through the Navaho Nation and we needed a place to stay. The outside of the hotel could put some people off but when you get to your rooms they are very nice. We had a microwave but no refrigerator but that was ok. We asked the owner if he could recommend a restaurant and he sent us to the Katie Diner. A really good choice, full of locals and VERY NICE people who run the restaurant. Tuba City is very small and quiet so after dark there is nothing going on. A nice stopping off point from the Grand Canyon.

We wanted to stay here for a night; after we saw a good notation on tripadvisor, but the receptionist was so rude, and ignored us completely. He barely looked at us, and did NOT care at all. There was absolutely NO consideration for the customer, I could tell it was painful to him to even talk to us and waste time for tourists. It made me kind of mad.
We did not stay but took a look anyway, and the room seemed correct. It was still expensive for what it was ($89 + tax, for 4)
So we decided to keep driving; and we finally stopped at Cameron city, at the Trading post hotel lodge, and it was really fine; for approximately the same price ($98 + tax)

My bf and I stayed here after we stopped at the Grand Canyon on our way to Monument Valley. If you look at the stretch of highway there are not many hotels/accomodations for another hour or more. There are 2 other hotels in Tuba: Quality Inn and Greyhills Inn. We had made a reservation at Dine Inn (it was $60 plus tax for a single queen/full bed) but went around to the other places to compare prices. The other places were much more. Quality Inn was double the price WITH the AAA discount. Greyhills wasn't much better. Since we were on a budget we stayed at Dine Inn.

The location was great - right on the main street but far enough from the street so you can't hear traffic. Tuba is really small anyways but it was easy in, easy out. There are shops, restaurants, and gas stations all around. Our room was a good size. There was a refrigerator so we could put our drinks in there. It was a little loud at times but ok. The room was clean. Nice tv. Free wi-fi. Very basic amenities but that was ok with us.

There's a Basha supermarket next door and a really good Chinese restaurant with lunch buffet.

Overall it was a nice stay. I would stay there again.

By the way, don't miss the Dinosaur Tracks on your way out of town.
