Wonderful stop. Clean, spacious, newly furnished rooms, very helpful staff, breakfast that included fresh fruit. Lovely lobby area and breakfast room.

This hotel is owned and operated by the Hopi tribe and we were able to find out a lot about the history of the Hopi Indians on our visit to this lovely facility. There was little in the way of passing noisy traffic except the inevitable Harley's but we would recommend getting a room at the back of the hotel where you get some good views across to the hills in the distance and you can also get to your car easily and quickly with your luggage.

The rooms are modern, well furnished and maintained with flat screen TVs and AC as standard. The bed was perfectly comfortable and we had a good night's sleep, The bathroom was very clean and well appointed. The outsisde spaces reflect the Indian philosophy very well. The breakfast was a Denny's discount coupon and this particular Denny's was very busy for a Sunday morning but the discounted breakfast made up for the slightly slower than normal service! The only real evening food close by was across the street,in another modern building / gas station. It a was recommended by the otherwise very helpul front desk staff but it was very very very poor easily the worst meal we had on our month long trip across America. If we had known how bad it was going to be would have gone to Denny’s. If you are a drinker note there is none on the reservation.

Loved this place. Happened upon it while driving through Painted Dessert, and it was a great find. Nice quick side trip from the Grand Canyon. Would like to have had more time to explore the reservation lands but this was worth the short drive from the Grand Canyon just for the drive through the Painted Desert. Seems brand new, friendly helpful staff, well decorated rooms with nice toiletries, comfortable beds. Breakfast bar included; not a vast array of choices but a good basic breakfast. Ate dinner at the Tuuvi Cafe across the street, which is also owned by this hotel. It's in a gas station, but don't be put off by that, thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there with mostly locals and Hopi cuisine.

After reading the reviews about the outdated and worn-out hotels near the Grand Canyon and in Page, AZ we decided to stay here because it was the newest hotel in the region. This is a beautiful hotel and the native people working here could not be nicer but the lack of planing related to our suite was inexcusable. We stayed in the Legacy Suite which is the most expensive room in the hotel and even though $200 a night is more than anyone should ever pay for a hotel room in Tuba City (regardless of how nice it is) we were on vacation and we chose to splurge expecting to be blown away and here’s what we found...

When you enter the suite you are impressed with the huge living room with it’s own half bath but it doesn’t take long before you start noticing all the mistakes. There’s an open space under the counter of the mini bar where you would expect to see the fridge but instead the fridge is sitting on the floor in the living room with a microwave dropped on top of it. Did they buy the wrong size fridge and it wouldn’t fit? Did they forget to put an electric receptacle under the counter? It was definitely a screw-up of some sort. Then, as you look around the room you wonder where is the rest of the furniture? Seriously, no table in front of the sofa?? We had to eat our dinner off our laps. And you want to relax and have a drink? That’s ok, just set your drink on the floor by your feet. Sorry for being so picky, but I like having a table nearby when I sit down.

The double doors leading to the master suite were impressive and the bedroom was a good size with a hall leading to the master bath but we couldn’t imagine the level of stupidity waiting for us in the bathroom. Without a doubt, the all-time dumbest design flaw ever in a hotel of this caliber... Wait for it... No shelves in the shower!! Nothing! Nada! Zilch! Oh, you can call me crazy if you want but I have this habit of using soap in the shower! And where do you think we had to set the soap and shampoo while in the shower? On the floor just like our drinks in the living room!!! What kind of a fool doesn’t install at least one shelf in the shower? And forget about using a wash cloth because there was no towel rack in the shower either. Just three smooth granite walls sitting on top of a cheap 3 foot by 3 foot pre-molded fiberglass shower pan. This is a huge suite with lots of wasted space and they thought a 3 foot by 3 foot shower would suffice! What a joke. And to top it off, they install a vinyl curtain at the opening instead of a glass door. Unforgivable, even in Tuba City.

Now where do you think the idiots that designed the hotel chose to locate the most expensive suite? In the quiet interior courtyard facing the pool? NO. On the top floor with a view of the San Francisco Mountains and Humphrey’s Peak? NO. So where was it?.. On the second floor above the lobby facing the main highway in front of the hotel with a view of the gas station and McDonalds across the street. Did the most expensive suite have a balcony like the less expensive rooms? NO. But who needs a balcony with a view when you can have a window with a lovely Flood light pointing directly at the window so that it can keep the living room fully illuminated all night. Truly unbelievable.

Despite all the ignorant flaws with our room, this hotel was new and clean and easily the nicest hotel in Tuba City.

Room Tip: Don't bother with the suite and bring your own pillows.

We chnced onto this hotel after our trip to the Grand Canyon. I can't say enough about it. Extremely friendly staff, beautiful and tasteful rooms, fantastic bed, pool, jacuzzi and breakfast all included for less than $100. Certanly the best value for money on our recent trip which included California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. Close to the hopi reserve.

It is clear that this hotel is almost brand spanking new. The lobby is nice, the public spaces are pleasant and my room had a high ceiling. Being on the first floor it also had a back door on the pool area. The Native American theming is great. The only thing I can think to be critical about is the breakfast, which is a little less than average for a hotel complementary morning meal. But really unless you are a big breakfast person that should not keep you away from this hotel. You may never find yourself in Tuba City, but if you do and need a place to stay, Moenkpoi Legacy is highly recommended.

Very different decor, paint colors, high ceilings. Clean, new, and with all ammenities. Walls were thin, as someone else has pointed out, and view was out onto parking lot but overall it was a nice night and best in Tuba City.
