This is a must-see for the military history buff. It had an impressive display of Spanish and Mexican military artifacts including a Spanish 18th century lancer and horse with leather armor and barding. There is also an interesting graph showing the inverse relationship between the size of the valley's garrison and Apache raids.

I love history and I love learning about things I never knew about before. The presidio is gone except for the foundation which is visible in an underground display accessible only by stairs, however, there are several other buildings on the site which are interesting to look at and the museum talking about life in the presidio is worth the time. The museum also houses Arizona's oldest printing press and it still works! The docent was very helpful and a wealth of information!
