Stopped in for a quick lunch while shoppcing in Tubac with my wife today. We had a wonderful salad (El Greco - a Greek salad) with a ton of fresh ingredients and a really good lemony dressing. It was plenty big enough to share. We added a 10" supreme pizza - picking 5 ingredients to top our pie. The pizza was done very well, although my wife thought the dough was a little tough. This was plenty for both of us.
Our server was new and didn't know a ton. He took the time to go ask questions and then brought answers back to us. Didn't check in a bunch, but enough.
We'd definately stop in again - especially if hungry for 'za.

My daughter and her husband had Pizza with some friends here about a month ago and were impressed enough to recommend it for a dinner for three couples, including themselves. Six of us enjoyed a very nice dinner with a very friendly waitress, who not only made recommendations, she adjusted a couple of the menu items to fit our needs. Our daughter and her husband had the Steak and Salad for their main item. The steak was very tender and the salad was excellent, with some romaine added to the spring greens.

The remaining four of us started with the Anti Pasta platter, which is extremely impressive, loaded with meat, olives, tomatoes and other goodies. A very large serving of high quality ingredients, this was salad for four of us. All four of us had different pasta's with seafood. One with clams, one with mussels, and I had the works, including mussels, clams and shrimp. All of these came with different red sauces and all were excellent. The fourth had Linguine with white sauce and shrimp. The servings were quite large and generous with the seafood, so we all had food left to take home. This was an excellent dinner.

The sign outside features a big PIZZA, and could be misleading as this is a full menu Italian restaurant. My daughter thinks the atmosphere could be improved if they would play some Italian background music, including some Dean Martin!

We've eaten here several times and are always "underwhelmed" with the quality of the food. Very disappointing to die-hard Italian food fans originally from New Jersey. The Bolognese and the marinara sauces are very glumpy - I believe made with mostly tomato paste instead of whole tomatoes. I have had the eggplant parmesan at least twice and it is mostly breading and cheese, with glumpy sauce. But it is a very large portion. Perhaps that's the attraction? It's adequate, but NOT GOOD Italian. Again, this place is always busy, so what are we missing/

We went to this restaurant with our family to celebrate our
grandaughter's graduation from high school. I had eggplant
parmesan and it was the best I have ever had. Simply yummy.

If you are in Tubac AZ around dinner time, the Italian Peasant is a place to consider. The food is average to above average depending on what you order. The place serves more than just pizza. The veal dishes are not too good as the meat is less than tender and probably not veal. The pasta dishes are quite good.

Seating is ok if at a normal table, but if you are stuck at these ridiculous pub height tables, it is not so pleasant for older folks like us. The chairs are impossible to get up to the table without help. Avoid them at all cost.
