“Wedding in Arizona”
Reviewed 13 February 2014

Very well appointed rooms and excellent service from staff. Had a housekeeping glich that was immediatly corrected. Golf was a little confusing due to frost and a lack of communications between cart personnel and grounds keeping. Course was in great shape. Resort bar is an excellent handout, great servcie and really wonderful nachos. All and all a great value in December.

Room Tip: Go for the older rooms near the main office which are more like cacitas.

My husband and I just returned from three nights. We have stayed there in the past. This time the room was dingy and smelled stale. There were no coat hangers, the fireplace wood had not been replaced, the tub faucet dripped and the cold water faucet's pressure in the bathroom was so low it was difficult to brush our teeth. Pool towels were not replaced. The last night my husband made a reservation in the restaurant for dinner. It was my birthday and he had requested a table by the fireplace. We arrived a bit early, both tables by the fire were already taken, the hostess said there was no notation in the book. There is an overall lack of attention to maintenance and detail that great resorts have. This is not one of them. We will not return.

Having never been to Tubac I didn't know what to expect. I was amazed by the beauty of Tubac. The resort itself was immaculate and the sunset on the mountains was breathtaking. The room was spotless and maintenance brought us a replacement remote for the TV before we even noticed it was missing. Not only was the room clean it was huge! There was plenty of room for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. The staff were all very friendly, the golf shop even threw in a set of rental clubs with our bucket of balls. I had never been to a driving range before and while I'm not any good, it was a lot of fun. If I were a golf fan, or visiting the area, I would be comfortable staying here for a few days.

Tubac Golf Resort & Spa is the truly the best value you will find in all of Arizona. Its views are endless of the Mountains. Some of the trees are so old and beautiful during the change of seasons they change the resort into another even more colorful resort. As you tee off on the 10th hole and see a beautiful Longhorn Steer nearby it is just a small reminder that this is a working ranch. Playing golf on the 27 holes is breath taking and challenges the best golfer and the occasional player on well kept greens and fairways. The Casitas are just as charming as you can imagine with very spacious elegant rooms decorated in the style of the old Spanish southwest keeping you pampered down to the last detail. The restaurant was understated yet the food and service was 5 star. The bar comes with its own saddles to sit in if you feel a need to drink alongside your partner. Bikes to rent for the day will take you to the old city of Tubac and the new shops and attractions just a short ride away. The Spa will rub away any soreness you brought with you, soak the stress away and make you feel relaxed and ready to do it all over again. Tubac resort & Spa is truly a trip worth taking if just for 1 night or a week of bliss. We highly recommend it…in fact we can’t wait for my recent back surgery to heal so we will be able to visit there again.

I write this as I am sitting in my room starving for some sort of fast food. The place is nice, but unless you plan on eating at the resorts one restaurant you will starve. I am not sure if they have room service, but they do have the standard overpriced junk food in a basket that will cost you an arm a a leg to eat.

Room Tip: They are all about the same even though some are older than others. I do like the ones with the gas...

We stayed in one of their hacienda rooms with a small fireplace. It was spacious, clean and well maintained. The bathroom was huge with walk-in shower, Jacuzzi bath tub and double sinks. Everything was clean and well maintained. The Restaurant and Bar are very nice, the food and drinks excellent. Personnel was always very friendly and helpful. We played all three courses and enjoyed them. Ortero is the easiest, Anza the most difficult and Rancho interesting (Thin Cup was filmed there). We had a fabulous time and can only recommend this resort.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Resort -- golfed two days and spent another poking around the little town. Lots of history in this area, so plenty to see. The Resort has been lovingly brought back to life and the King Hacienda room with golf course view was perfect. The room and the bathroom are large and comfortable and especially nice to have the fireplace in the evenings. We would definitely recommend these rooms as they have been nicely renovated although others in the Resort may not be. Stables restaurant was consistently good -- very nice breakfasts, well priced. The bar and restaurant menus both good, happy hour from 3 to 6 in the bar.
