We had an excellent time staying at the Best Western, good breakfast, clean rooms and Very comfortable beds. Would stay there in the future. The resturants in the town leave a lot to be desired but the hotels food was very good. Be sure to see the National Geographic film on the Grand Canyon before you go to the canyon as it's very informative. Also be sure to take the RED line shuttle in the park.

Parts of the hotel appeared a little stale, but the room was very comfortable, we had a good night's sleep, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent - enough to keep you going to the evening if you wish. Only a few minutes from the South Rim. Perfect for a short visit to the grand Canyon.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back and it was very quiet.

The hotel was more than we expected in terms of ambience, food, staff friendliness, and convenience to the Grand Canyon! Would highly recommend this hotel! When we arrived, it was snowing quite unexpectedly. However, the hotel had a nice LIVE fireplace going in the restraurant, and the room was quite cosy. The meal was very good, both dinner and breakfast. The staff was very friendly, and helpful regarding the Grand Canyon tours, etc.

I have mixed feelings about our stay here.

Pros: First thing's first, it was clean. In terms of location, you can't really beat it. It's a very short drive to Grand Canyon National Park. The breakfast was very generous, there was a huge selection of both hot and cold items (scrambled eggs, sausages, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, french toast, cereal, pastries, fruit, yoghurt). Also, the in-hotel entertainment was pretty cool (although not free) - a bowling alley, games arcade and bar. Apart from Vegas, I've never come across this type of thing. Maybe I've been staying in the wrong hotels.

Cons: The price is a little steep. The staff were a bit surly, they were either disinterested or rude. The walls were super thin and we could hear people banging around and yelling in the hallway. Also, around 8 in the morning we were awoken by somebody shouting "housekeeping!" up and down the corridor. And perhaps the biggest downside of all - the wifi is so slow it may as well be non existent.

In conclusion, yes it will meet your basic needs (except wifi), the free breakfast and location are fantastic, but the rest is fairly average.

We stayed here for 4 nights while we explored the Grand Canyon South Rim. The location is much more convenient than staying in the park, as you have more choices about where to eat, plus gas stations, pharmacy, whatever you need. But the park entrance is only 5 minutes away. What surprised us is that the place is much more like major hotel than a motel, but without the attitude. In fact, the entire staff was very friendly and helpful all the time we were there, from check-in to check-out. Parking is problem, but easy to load and unload the car, as there are lots of carts and elevators, or bellhops if needed. Rooms are adequate size and well furnished, including fridge and microwave. 2 restaurants and 2 bars on the premises, all excellent, though pricey. Good exercise room. Large hot tub, but only one jet was working. Nice bowling alley on site. Excellent full breakfast, but we have come to expect such from this chain. Very comfy bed, good linens and towels, large TV with adequate number of channels. All in all, it satisfied all of our needs at a fair value. The only problem was a lot of trouble with the electronic key cards, which would stop working for no reason, but all guests had the same complaint.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good as far as we can tell, but ask for a king room for more space.

This was the worst hotel room I have ever experienced and we spend about 100 days a year travelling!
Room 3109 had an ice machine and a vending machine, directly outside our door. The subsequent noise from the machines and the people using them disturbed us all evening and night. WORSE was the inability to draw the curtains, unless we wanted to be on public display – the access path to the rear entrance ran alongside our window - more noise, from guests entering and leaving the hotel.
I had booked a small room, but did not expect to have to move the furniture to use the wardrobe.
We had asked to be moved but were told the hotel was full. When I complained at checkout in the morning the Duty manager apologised and sympathised, saying she usually only put Coach drivers in that room!
AVOID!
