The live in host met us on his golf cart as we drove in after dark. He drove us to our site and made sure everything was OK. It's in a great location and is very quiet. It IS no frills - (toilets for example) - but the prices reflect that at yunder $20. Very please and would go back in a heartbeat.

This campground is less than 10 minutes to the park, and 5 minutes to Tusayan and is an excellent alternative to camping in national park, for much less money.

I was on a 5-week road trip and camped on and off at many national parks and this is by far the cleanest and best camping. It is definitely no frills - vault toilets, no showers but the sites are spacious, with a picnic table and fire grill, accessible drinking water and the bathrooms are cleaned well and frequently. The park hosts are often seen around the grounds and it is quite likely you will see wildlife in the campground.

It's only $10/night or add $9 for your stay if you book ahead. I booked ahead but probably didn't need to as there were several sites available (I was there mid-week).

I enjoyed my stay in this campground and would highly recommend it to others.

This is a smaller campground. It is operated by the forestry service, not the national park service. While all the NPS campgrounds and hotels were full, this campground had several openings. I think that people visiting the canyon often have no idea it is there.

It is a nice campground with basic amenities. There is water and restrooms. The restrooms are composting toilets with no running water. The restrooms also have no electricity/lights. Keep this in mind when making a trip to them at night.

There is no showers and no washer/dryers. No shops etc. it is a very rustic campground.

The sites are very large and are not close together. The campground is set in the Kaibab national forest so the sites are set among the trees. Each site has a picnic table and a grill area. The sites are level and my site's tent area was nice soil....not the gravel you see in some campgrounds.

Great place to camp cheap. Only $10. Most sites are great. Stinky bathrooms, though clean. Toroweap loop has some good sites. Just 15 minutes to the Grand Canyon visitor center and about 7 to Tusayan for restaurants and amenities

Stayed here in June and it was a great experience. The campgrounds are outside the park itself but it's only 5 minute drive. The bathrooms were basic pit bathrooms but clean, no showers though. I would definitely come back here next time I visit!
