I'm not going to rave about the Westerner as some others have, but it was fine for the price (about $55 for four of us). If you're worried about thread counts and lots of extras, check elsewhere; the Westerner isn't for you. But if you simply want a clean place to sleep, it'll do.
Its tile floors offer a bit of charm. The bathroom was small but functional and clean. The heating system was older but warm enough on one of those rare cold nights in Arizona. The beds were sleepable, and cable choices were varied. It was quiet.
I was disappointed when the owner -- a nice lady -- told us she had given away the room I had informally reserved on the phone earler in the day. She arranged a rollaway, but it wasn't as nice as an actual bed.
My only real complaint was the early check-out time: 10 a.m. That's the earliest I've ever seen. The owner let us stay an extra half-hour but I still felt rushed. Otherwise, the Westerner was fine and does have a certain 50s style charm about it.
I'd stay there again.
