We stayed the month of January in Glo's Bungalow. While the weather was cool in the evenings, the daytime temps were great for hiking. The Bungalow is very well maintained, decorated beautifully, and cheerfully bright. The kitchen had everything we needed, and Katy and John are the perfect hosts-----always ready to help, yet mindful of guest privacy. My wife and I loved the inquisitive chickens that visited from the neighboring property, the low rumble of the trains going past, and the morning songbirds. The small front porch was a nice place to end the evening with a drink while keeping an eye out for the javelinas. The Bungalow is fine for bird watching. We put out sunflower seeds each morning--wrens, finches, cardinals, and woodpeckers swarmed the feeder. The Bungalow is just a few short miles from Wickenburg, where we located a nice gym, found decent ribeye, and had a great time walking around. The Webb Center for the Performing Arts is fantastic. During our month stay we attended four performances, including Swan Lake by the Moscow Ballet. Another great find was the River Preserve. Although you can access it from the Bungalow property, we most often drove the mile down the road to the main entrance of the Preserve where maintained trails, benches, and interpretive center are located. A year's membership was about 25 bucks and allows the pass holder and one guest unlimited access--a very good deal. Glo's Bungalow was a great find!

We loved it at Glo's Bungalow....the serene setting with hummingbirds making a visit to the porch every so often and a campfire that allowed us the time to relax and meditate. Katy and John were more than helpful and did everything to make our stay a great experience. I have a passion for dutch oven cooking and together with John's asisstance was able to get some of that done, too. We loved taking hikes down to the river and watching the birds from the bench overlooking the Hassayampa. It was just a short trip in to town and we also were close enough to Phoenix and the suburbs that allowed us to make many day trips there. Our bungalow was decorated with numerous items that set our minds thinking about the history of the picture or item portrayed....the whole place was a history lesson about days gone by, and we enjoyed every minute of it. In the evenings we enjoyed the coziness of our casita and my husband enjoyed the huge variety of channels offered on the TV while I worked on a puzzle or read one of the many books supplied. What a great winter retreat! We loved being there....so much better than staying in a big city.

You all spoiled us with your yummy outdoor dutch oven cooking. Pioneers are the spirit of the West and you both earned your Western stripes with us! Thanks for embracing history and old customs like we do.

I stayed in the Rancho Grande. I loved it. So comfortable. It was fun to explore the room, finding a unique surprise in every corner. I enjoyed walks in the nature preserve in the afternoon, able to get there on foot from the property.

My wife and I were absolutely thrilled to have found this place to stay during Family Week at The Meadows. The casita was warm and inviting and offered the perfect retreat at the end of emotionally taxing days. The cottage is comfortable and charming. The grounds offer the opportunity for hiking and tranquility. Katy was attentive to ensuring all our needs were met.

What a gem! We stayed in Rancho Deluxe last weekend and absolutely loved it! The cabin was beyond amazing in its western ambiance. Katy and her husband John are the perfect hosts, there to help and visit but unobtrusive. Katy stocked our refrigerator with fruit and juices, yogurt and treats. The proximity to the Hassayampa Preserve is ideal. In all we can't say enough about the attention to detail and the overall experience. We'd highly recommend a stay at Rio Tierra!

We stayed for eight nights in the Rancho Deluxe property. Décor was amazing, so many western antiques and memorabilia. Everything you might need was there...The night we arrived Katy brought over a loaf of fresh baked bread and there was a basket of fruit on the table...

Our hosts, Katy & John were the best...! Very friendly & gracious, it was fun visiting with them...In my opinion, the best place to stay in Wickenburg...!!

Stayed in the Rancho Deluxe - very cool little place. We were amazed at the decor; cowboy all the way but then so much more. Really loved the place and we plan to come back again when it's not raining so we can enjoy some local hiking and horseback riding!
