“Oasis in the Desert”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Loved the section with the water surrounded by trees. To get the feel of the Preserve, one needs to climb to the top and view the surrounding area.

Very nice setting. Trails are well marked. The diversity of plant life along with birds and animals is spectacular.

“Beautiful Riparian Preserve”
Reviewed 18 April 2013

Make a point to visit Nature's Conservancy's Hassayampa Nature Preserve just south of Wickenburg. It is 660 acres of riparian delights. Depending on the time of year, you will be entertained with migrating songbirds and butterflies. Beautiful Cottonwood trees along the Hassayampa. Also, an excellent selection of the only native Palm in Arizona (the Californian Palm). Outside the entrance is an excellent selection of desert cactus and perennials well signed. There are about 2+ miles of meandering trails with benches. Take a couple of hours, bring a picinic lunch if desired and enjoy nature. After hiking, head up to Wickenburg and have lunch at Nana's. Other options I would recommend include Anita's, Hog Trough or Tumbleweeds. Take in some interesting shops on Tegner St as well.

“Don't miss in Wickenburg”
Reviewed 7 April 2013

Fantastic educational program, excellent trail, very friendly, helpful volunteers. Loved the overlook area with a map naming all the mountains we could see. Gardens around main building were nicely planted and labeled. The old palm trees around the park were way cool.
